Thanks Pat! Yeah the Abs portion of the program might have to wait a bit a I simply cannot stop eating lately. Calories yesterday were bordering on 3200 which is a lot for me considering I don't eat many of carbs. I'm just going to keep the carbs and fats as clean as possible, and make sure protein is up around 190, then adjust as I go along and hopefully get used to this amount of work.
Thanks Markie and Ravi! I always thought Smolov was insane, now I see a bit of what you guys are doing and........ I still think it's insane.

Yep, let's see what happens Jim. I'm pretty confident, but you never know.
On a side note, I scored big time yesterday! No, not that! I went to Sears for some sweat pants to hopefully solve my scraped knee problems on deadlifts as well as keep a little more toasty in my freezing garage. Well, what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a closeout sale on fitness gear! Sweet. Bought 4-45 lb plates for 100 bucks and some other odds and ends! Very nice. Even better since that was not in the budget and money is silly tight at the moment, when I told my wife about it, she was stink eyed until I mentioned the huge sale, then she was all smiles. Apparently doesn't matter whether we can afford it or not, just matters that it was a good deal But, hey stuff for the man cave and no grief afterwards, I'll take it! ![]() And finally a day in the Byrd's Brutal Beatdown Program (BBBP for short) that didn't kick my ass! HA! Actually Byrd's Basic Barbell Training is more accurate. So, BBBT. Thursday, week 1 warmups: Arm Swings, Wood bar, Diesel, Bar Hangs and retractions, 2x 1 Min rowing, 3x 10x 100 Pulldowns, 3 pullups (going back to more shoulder loosening stuff, I haven't needed it in a while, but I am being proactive here) OHP: 4x 8x 105 (probably could've done 110) Arnolds: 4x 8x 30DB (too easy) ss w/ Pullups: 4, 2, 3, 3 (I'm awful at pullups) Side Bends: 5x 10x 75 (first two sets were 12 reps) *pullups were extra, not in the program, but what the hell. If they affect tomorrow, I'll drop them. Tricep and some back yoga to finish. 3rd set of 105s, you can see my new plates on the rack there!: Last set of Arnolds and Pullups: Side Bends to see if I'm doing these right and I love the song: There you go. Good stuff. Get to use the new plates tomorrow!

Great work Mike! I lol'd at how the wife was fine with spending when it was on sale! I get the same from my wife. Spent $70 on meat, she freaks out and goes on telling me about this and that and we have no money! I tell her I got everything at almost half price....then suddenly it was ok
