![]() Thanks, Kuyt, Elite, KD! Onward and upward. Thnaks Jim. Yeah, I didn't think I had major problems, but I do think it needs some massaging as I think it's ridiculous that I just squatted more than I ever deadlifted. I'll get it though! This is the year of the deadlift! 500 or bust! Fingers crossed of course. Thanks JB! You're the best. You're not the first to tell me I need to pull the slack out of the bar and pull smoother off the floor. I don't know why that is so hard for me to do. I just default to ripping it off the floor and I think that gets me out of my best position right from the get go. I'll work on that. We'll see what happens this week.

Thanks SB! I wish I was as dialed in as you!
![]() Bit of a tough day, not sure why as I felt great. Squats were just a little off for some reason. I did do them without knee sleeves or wrist wraps, but I don't think that affected anything. JBPP week 10 warmups: hip and leg stuff, not enough probably Tired a new warmup ladder that Lilly recommends. Didn't really work for me as I normally hit more in between weights. That first work set was rough! Squat: warmups: barx 10 135x 5 185x 5 225x 3 275x 2 5x 2x 315 That was it for the day, saving the legs and back for some better deadlifts this week! First double was rough, second was best of all, but didn't video that one, typical, third I misgrooved the second rep, and last set was just SLOW. In fact all of them felt a little slow, I usually have more pop than that. weight wasn't bad, just not totally in the game today. First double: Third: Fifth: OK, so I changed some things up and maybe not surprisingly had a bit of a rough time. However, on the flip side, I was able to get all the work done and it was some practice at getting the job done when things are not always going your way. For example warming up this way at a meet with all those other hammerheads being in the way is easier as you can share a bar easier with just plate and quarters for warmups. Also if I do a 100% RAW meet, they don't allow sleeves or wrist wraps. There you go. Decent day, especially as I like being able to handle 315 anytime under any circumstances. That was my original goal when I started powerlifting. HaHa, now I want to do that with 405!

Nice skwats. Most raw competitions allow at least belt and wrist wraps, some will allow knee sleeves and some even allow knee wraps.

I would actually like to see you work on getting more upright Mike. It could just be my poor eyesight, but I thought the bar looked to far forward. I also am not sure if you are spreading the floor with those knees. I think this along with sitting back better would also help you achieve a bit better depth to leave no doubt for the judges.
Still very strong work. Congratz on making it to the 10 weeks!!

Jim you hit the nail on the head again. I wasn't getting my knees out well enough and it was slowing me down as well as making me pitch forward a bit. It's funny, but with the sleeves on, it sort of makes me remember to keep pushing them out as normally I do a much better job of that. I'll do better next time.
Thanks Hunter, KD, Ravi. I'm getting there. Thanks LtL. Yeah, I've been checking out the feds that do meets around here and USAPL and 100% RAW are the two I'm interested in doing. USAPL raw allows sleeves and wrist wraps and belt of course! (I'm never doing a fed that doesn't allow a belt! That's crazytalk! ) 100% RAW doesn't allow anything but a belt which I guess explains their name! BTW, the wife accidentally got me a set of knee wraps for Christmas, so one day down the road, I'll get used to them and try a fed that allows knee wraps. That's a ways off though. I want to see how far I can take my squat raw or with sleeves first. Then we'll see about gearing up! ![]() Pause bench tomorrow! I'm gonna crush it!
