Mike the board presses are throwing you off due to the placement of the board. You are adjusting your form to touch it. We will come up with something different.

You could have hit an easy double with 275, look at your form this week as oppose to a few weeks back when we talked about the elbows coming out too soon. You look a lot better today.

You have got to be pleased where you are with your overall gains over the last year. It is really great to see your hard work paying off! You have a legit shot at a 300lb comp bench in April.

Board pressing at home without a spotter nor someone to place the boards really makes it insanely difficult Mike - so props to you for even attempting it. Any chance of at least having someone in the family place the boards for you?

Indeed, the crew taught me to do board work fast and get that bounce off of the boards. I do, however, like doing the pin presses at home.

Yeah JB. You called it. I got a new bench and had never readjusted my feet to the right place. Once I got that figured out, now I am back to the form I had before. I think I would have got 275 for two as well. I am just not pushing it as we taper down because I want the reps to be really good form and confidence building.

Good idea about an alternate for board presses. They are tough on your own for sure Jim!

Thanks fellas! Those bench press felt great!

Markie, I was a teacher back in Maryland, now I need to take some classes to be certified in Virginia. Once my daughter goes to kindergarten next fall, I'm going to be looking for a teaching job here. I teach Special Education, like JB.

A little bit of a tough day at the office today. I got a solid PR, but really had to work for it as it felt much heavier than I think it should have. So I opted out of the optional set JB. I did however play around with the assistance to push that a bit.

JBPP week 8

warmups, usual leg and hip stuff

Squat:
3x 285
2x 315 (this felt pretty heavy too)
2x 335 (PR)

Front Squat:
10x 95
10x 115
10x 95
High rep on these is killer!

Leg Curl:
3x 15x 55
ss w/ 10 sec. pause squat, in socks: 3x 1 rep.

2x 335:
10 sec pause rep:
Love that song! Also pleased I can even squat in socks. I've been working flexibility in my bad ankle for almost two years. So that's cool.

So, I think I can push squats really hard for two weeks, but probably shouldn't push it really hard on the third, I think is the message from today.

Might be a silver lining as now I will be a little bit fresher heading into deadlifts! I am going to crush those for once!! (hopefully)

I like how you shake your booty when setting up and after unracking!

Great work there Mike, and I like how you err on the side of caution. Any mishaps and injuries are definitely the last thing you want right now.

Props to you and JB for doing what you do to help children succeed no matter what. I am sure it serves you well in the garage there as well.
