12/15/2012 Deadlift Realization 8's wave I had terrible DOMs from squatting so I had to wait an extra day to get my deadlift session in. It went pretty well today. My son was a wake when I went to the gym so he went with me and palyed games while I lifted. Pipe Roll, mobility, blah stuff Deadlift: 135X5 225X5 Add straps 315X2 325X15 *Stopped at 15 so that I can squat on Monday. I felt like I could have easily went to 20. RDL: 315X3X3 Shrugs: 225X3X5 Notes: Good wave of deadlifts.

Alright so I am gonna skip this first deload. I am only doing this because I deloaded all summer and I fell really good still. I am going to add in a purpose driven upper day as well and keep moving towards my goal of being back in the gym 4 days a week.
Monday-Squats: I am moving squats to the 5's wave with a training max of 393, which is 20lbs heavier than my 10's wave. Assistance will be leg press and the stepmill for conditioning Tuesday-Incline Bench Press: Going to start on the 10's wave with a training max of 185. Assistance will be chins, strict press(maybe), and 1 arm rows. Conditioning will be treadmill sprints Thursday or Friday-Deadlifts: Deadlifts will be moving to the 3's week. My training max will be moved up to 435, which is 25lbs heavier than my starting point. Assistance will be RDL's and shrugs I will not do conditioning here as I plan on doing events the next day. Saturday-Events: Now That I am officially furloughed, I have time for Saturday events day. I am going to hunt for a contest to train for after this is posted.

I forgot to add in this. I can officially announce that I have quit chewing tobacco. Havent had a dip in a month, dont miss it at all, dont ever want another one again. I am trying to start my new years resolutioning off a little on the slower side so that I dont try to change my entire life at once. This years official resolution will be to lose 15lbs and to hit 1 p/l meet at 242 and one strongman comp at 231lbs.

Alright so Christmas and all the crap that goes with it are over. I ate entirely too much junk and not enough protein over the course of the last few days. I am officially starting my way down to a point where I can reach 231.4. Starting this morning at a very bloated 263.
Foam roll, mobility Squats: Some @ bar 5@135 5@225 5X5@275* Squats felt like absolute crap today. Oh well, moving onward Leg Press: 3X12@Sled+ 380 *It was loaded so said screw it and started to knock out sets. Conditioning-Short Sprints 15 seconds sprint 1 minute jog Repeat 10 rounds. Total time: 11 minutes Total Distance: .85 miles Notes: Saw new gym for the first time today. It looks nice but the same fundamental flaws as the old set up. Weights are way away from the racks and both rack right in front of mirrors. There is a new multipurpose room that is nice for rolling and doing my mobility stuff in. Overall still not bad for a commercial gym.

Foam roll, mobility work focusing on my very sore squat muscles Seated DB Press: 20X10 40X10 60X3X5 One arm db press: same reps on each arm 80x3 90x2 100x2 ran out of dbs, felt pretty easy cg nuetral grip chest press machine thing: 120X20 140X20 160X12 did some band pull aparts didnt count nor do i care about sets Conditioning-Stepmill of suck speed intervals-12 minutes 48 seconds at 54 48 seconds at 48 I about quit after 6 mintues because I was dogging it so hard. I am in terrible shape, lol 12/29/2012 Made the trip down to train with the strongman crew. Didnt get a chance to do much else other than deadlift as I still want to rest my wrist. Deadlifts: 5@135 5@225 3@275 6X3@325 12X325 Rack pulls(from just above knees): 405X3 495X3 585X3 675X1 Watch a guy yank 1k from here. It was the death of a lifting strap, but pretty impressive Did some hammer striking and jumps onto a tire and some axle floor press, but nothing worth really noting and then left. 1/1/2013 Walk 5 minutes on treadmill Lots of mobility stuff-I was super tight today Foam roll Squats: 2X5@bar 1X5@135 1X5@225 1X2@255 1X2@285 4X5@305 Leg Press: Sled+380X3X12 Notes: I had my kids with me so had to keep this one short. Squats where really easy, which is odd because I looked at the numbers and kinda had that little negative feeling in the back of my head. Very happy with todays workout and cant wait until its time to smash next weeks squats. 1/3/2013 I finally came down with the bug my family has been passing around, but never got to me. Before work on Wednesday, I got in a short upper misc workout. Its not anything worth logging, but here it is anyway. Walk 5 minutes Foam roll Mobility stuff DB OHP: 20X20 40X10 50X10 60X8 *This was when I realized that I was getting sick. I couldnt catch my breathe after this set at all. This isnt normally a weight that would cause any problems, so it was odd and memorable. Hang clean and strict press: 95X5 115X3 135X3 *Clean once and press for reps. Wrist still isnt quite liking the clean yet. I will wait until Feb to try again. Rear delt Flies: 50X5X10 Notes: I got called into work about 30 minutes prior than I expected to be. I had to cut out all my brocep curls Terrible workout was terrible and I still feel awful as I type this. Due to this stupid cold I am going to have to skip deadlifts for the week and start my realization week with squats on Tuesday.
