3/18/13: Back Squat 5-rep week
Goblet Squat: 50x8, 70x6 Back Squat 185x5 215x5 Top set: 245x10 -> felt pretty okay considering I took last week off; +10lbs but -3 reps over last cycle’s 5-rep week Back-off sets: 215x5, 185x5 -> D’oh! Forgot to do heavy singles as per 3/5/1 protocol SGDL 135x5 185x3 225x3 275x1 310x5 -> wasn’t feeling it in the right places; forgot to check my ego at the door 240 x 10, 9, 9, 9 -> these are brutal for high reps Front Squats 135x5 175x3 200 x 2 sets x 5 -> was going for 5 sets but called it because my upper back was tweaking a bit Elevated RDLs: 235x15, 10, 10 -> felt super gassed Leg Press (rest pause): 1pps x 20/10/10/10 Kneeling Ab Wheel: bw x 15 Thoughts: Definitely a C workout; top set went decently but this 10-day prep for CBL is already hitting me; I will up protein and fat today compared to yesterday. On the bright side, only four more workouts until I eat sweet delicious carbs |

Checking the ego is tough. Knowing you need to is 2/3 the battle I'd say. Glad your top set went up. I plan on doing the CBL and the 10 day prep but I'm putting it off for a bit.

Yeah, nothing wrong with that. I really want to do it right to see it's effects/help to better learn my body. Woke up today (morning of day 3) and am feeling/looking a little small/soft all around but I guess that's because my glycogen stores are low. I'm going on vacation on june 1st, so after the prep phase I have about 9 solid weeks for CBL (hopefully I can eat appropiately on vacation but I'm not going to make any promises lol). In those 9 nine weeks I will strive to put on about 10lbs and maintain the same bf%

3/20: Overhead 5-rep + accessory (Day 4 of ULC prep phase)
45x10 60x5 75x5 90x3 95x5 110x5 125x1 140x1 -> a struggle, probably due to low carbs 125x6 -> hit above the prescribed but not a rep PB at this weight; no worries, I’ll crush next week once I have carbs in the system lol 95x10 -> decent back off set, but it’ll be better next week Incline BB Press 135x11 115x 2 x 12 Incline DB Press: 40x2x15 DB Row (no strap): 80 x 3 x 15 Chins: bw x 10, 11, 8 + 2 negative RGBP 95x20 115x11 105x13,11,11 Standing DB Hammer curl: 25x5x12 Cable Facepulls (underhand): 50 x 3 x 12 Seated Lateral Raise Machine (drop-set): 50lbs/40lbs/30lbs x 12/10/12 Thoughts: thank god that’s over – 4 days down and 6 to go until sweet delicious carbs |

Thanks brother - the ULC is definitely affecting my strength, but this is to be expected. I'm willing to sacrifice short term gain for long term progress
