nice work here lee

i have just started doing the 20 rep squats once a week myself. . . they are tough going , what way are you doing them? go hell for leather and slow towards the end?

Off Road suggested a nice idea in his log about #'s of deep breaths in between each one if that is any use to you.

keep working hard.

thanks btb,I'm having bit of a change in work outs I'm liking the starting strength programs i know its not good to swap and change workouts but i feel i can carry my progression over to starting strength and really put my effort in to the big 4 as I'm becoming more focuesd on strength not bodybuilding even i know the two go together, what do you think?thanks for any input.

thanks markievicz,i was going at a rep speed that the weight i was using would allow me wich was at a smooth pace untill i got at 12/15 reps then i had to start takeing breathers between reps up to 30secs to 1min at times.

As long as it's about an equal swap it's ok. You're intelligent enough to keep progressing no matter what you do.

If you get your big 4 numbers up you're going to build muscle either way, so you can always cross back over to a muscle building focus.

workout A
24/8/12

squat@107kg 5/5/5 +5kg
benchpress@92kg 5/5/4=fail
deadlift@122kg +5kg

the squats where more like 5sets did 2 sets at 102kg then relized this was to easy then did 3 sets at 107kg i forgot to add the weight increase from last workout,so including warm up sets it was alot of squats to day and it felt good feeling strong feel like i could use 10kg increases on squats and deadlifts.
