Yeah I've been trying to go heavy the last couple of weeks and its been taking it out of me so it seems to be working. My body seems to be telling me when enough is enough..

Back isn't great. Havent done any work on it since so I'm going to ease myself back in on tuesday for a session and see how that goes

You're keeping sessions tight and focused, excellent work. And you're also discovering when to stop in order to prevent injury. Good call on the deadlift.

Always good to listen to your bodys cues -- it's very hard to do -- but it's the SMART thing to do! You'll come back and kill it!

Just popped in to see you hit yet another PR, congrats

Were you going for it or did you just decide in the middle of the session? Very good 1RM since you did quite a bit of volume prior to it

Thanks Kuyt,

I didnt head into the gym with the intention of going for it but chose a 6 rep per set goal in my head and thought I might get as far as 85kg with it but they all felt fine right up to 90 so I said I'd try a double at 100 (my previous PR).. It felt ok and ended up doing a triple so I said feck it I'd try 105. Hopefully I can keep increasing it now as I struggled with my bench press for a long time. I think the switch to dumbbells definitely helped me
