Thank you guys, when internet stops playing up at home I'll upload a video of the pulls. Yesterday shifts want okay, hit some heavy reverse band work, but theydidn't really seem to add too much to my regular box squat. The heavy weights seemed to kill my CNS though! Today branching was too. Hit 130, but then missed 142.5 as I had a premature take. Felt a bit sore so decided not to go for it again. Then I just did some lateral raises and pull-downs. Boring crap. Tomorrow is deadlock day though so I'm hoping for a nice big sumo pull, especially after that 300 block pull. Then some conventional block pulls and high rep leg work.

Thank you very much guys, still no internet at home so I'm stuck using 3G at work where the signal is much stronger. Training went pretty well today pulled a big sumo deadlift PB of 270kg and then a 270kg conventional 5" block pull. Latter loft was tough, but I reckon I was just tried. Really happy with the sumo pull - almost lost my balance half way up but managed to lock it out. Video... sometime. Finished with leg press death. Not fun.Blurgh.

Sorry I haven't been around here much guys, still been keeping training, just been a bit lazy tis all. Bench is coming along nicely now I've started doing 5/3/1 for it - hit 112.5kg for 10 last week, so really pleased with that. Missed a 245kg squat so I'm going back to doing light and reps using 5/3/1 on that as well to keep grinding away the numbers. Deadlift I don't really know what to do - hit 250kg for a triple and then 260kg for a single last week and then some band and chain insanity, but that's nothing special really. Ed Coan routine again? Or something else maybe?

Anyway, today's training...

03/08/12

Squat (prescribed reps in parenthesis)
170x5 (5)
182.5x5 (5)
195x10 (5+)

Pretty pleased with that. Really got to work on my technique to sort out my tabletopping, but considering I was wearing my weightlifting shoes, that's a solid set.

Box Squat
60x5
100x5
140x5
180x3
210x3
180x10>140x5 (explained below...)

My adductors, glutes and hams were utterly fried after that big set of ten. Doing accessory work would've been fine, but heavy box squats were not happening. Reckon it might have been a carryover from Saturday's speed squats, jump training and HASDs (heavy ass sled drags), which made me hurt like a mofo as well.

That final set was supposed to be what I've called the "Tower of Terror Box Squat". Because the box that Al's Dad built has four different heights I thought it would be AWESOME to try and do a squat strip set, starting at 180kg, where you do a bunch of reps before re-racking and taking a plate (20kg) off each side as well as a layer of the box. Rinse and repeat for four sets within the set. So basically the weight gets lighter, but the box gets lower. I got half way through my set with 140kg and thought, "**** this shit" and racked it.

RDL
60x12
100x12
140x12x3 sets

Light weight, high reps.

Great session, although I hurt so much right now.
