Wednesday August 15th
Workout A

Back Squat
1x10x45 (Warm-Up)
1x5x115
-----------------------
1x5x160
1x5x180
3x3x200

Chin-Ups
2x5
1x4
1x3
1x4

Bench Press
1x10x45 (Warm-Up)
1x5x70
1x5x90
3x5x110
1x8x95
*Put a little chalk on my hands for the first time when benching. Benching felt pretty good today, felt more stable. I remembered while I was in High School one of my teachers taught me to bring the bar to the lower part of my chest, he said I would have power pressing up then, pressing from my upper chest so I did that.. He use to be a powerlifter and had trophies and medals to back his experience so I figured his advice was credible....

Reverse Arm Curls
2x10x40

Calf Raises
3x10x60 (+5lbs)

WorkOut A

Back Squat
1x10x45 (Warm-Up)
1x6x95 (Warm-Up)
------------------------
1x5x150
1x5x170
2x5x190
200x1
205x1 (PR)

Chin-Ups
1x5
1x5
1x4
1x3
1x3

Bench Press
1x10x45 (Warm-Up)
1x5x70
1x5x100
2x5x110
1x5x115

Reverse Arm Curls
2x8x50

Calf Raises
3x10x65

One of the trainers came up to me while I was squating and commented on my form, saying how most guys he see's are doing it wrong. I said said thanks and introduced myself. Thought about saying I have MAB to thank for my awesome form... Then he asked if I did any variations, I told him I alternate w/ Front Squats and then he starts going on about I don't have to lift heavy and how I can do higher reps, different training techniques and hack squats. I'm thinking, why the hell would I wanna do that? I told him I appreciate the ideas and I'll try it out sometime, but for now I'm training for strength.

Even a couple weeks ago, a co-worker who happens to go to the gym I joined. Was trying to say I don't have to lift heavy and I can get big with higher reps and its okay to switch up my routine..

Personally, I like lifting heavy and want to get stronger and want to keep improving my numbers. I don't know if these guys know something I don't or if they don't understand why I'm training the way I am.

Other than that had a good workout, looking forward to hit the gym again!

Great work WB!

You don't need to lift heavy? Good luck with that. If you just want fitness, sure. He sounds like he's trying to convince you to join him in futility.

You get stronger in the 5-12 rep range and muscle is going to come in nicely.

Thanks Steve, I'm not gonna change anything for awhile. He's a pretty big guy but he has a soft look, like if you poked him with a needle he would deflate!
