Best of luck. Do I get the sense that you are on a comeback of sorts? Sorry if I missed something.

Start with a slow but steady progression and listen to your body. Before you know it, you WILL be maxing out the bar and feeling great! I know it!

I have about 18 KBs and half of them are the size of a football, so they take up a bit of space...we've been debating standing one complete set along the landing so that they're out of my way and easily accessible at the same time; so tomorrow's task is to move them. The other, somewhat smaller KBs are already sat in the room in a place that's not so much in the way of anything.

That's the one big problem with my "workout" room which is a small room, stacks of plates, folding bench, two safety stands, barbells, straps, wraps, computer, laundry, exercise bike (hubby only), stepper, bookshelf...it all takes space. It'll be a workout just getting stuff out and packing it away every session.

Yeah, hubby has been ill, the year previous (2010) he had ankle fusion; last year (2011), he had a heart attack; this year, he had open-heart surgery...things have been very much up in the air and I sat here one night and had one of those Eureka moments...when it suddenly dawned on me that my lifting goals were no longer the same.

We sat made some minor plans and hope they get rolling without much getting in the way; lo and behold, hubby has a really bad night with meds and sleep but still taking everything one day at a time and hopefully he'll be up to the cinema later on. He should have had his rehab session today but he was exhausted so I told him to go back to bed and rest; he's doing plenty of exercise on the days he has no rehab so it's not like he's slacking...and he asked them about weights today, when he rang, only to find that the physio prefers to leave that a while; but, since he wants to play bowls and is permitted to do so 12 weeks post-surgery, light weights would be wise to be starting on now.

Yep, that's the plan IW, it would be nice to max the bar out by the time I hit 50y/o which is only a few years away...DL 125kg, I mean, maxing it out on other lifts may take more time, who knows, or it may not. Gentle, steady progress, is the order of the day for me, I'm in no rush, though I also have the goal of jerking the 28kg KB as well.

This is where I'm at, presently, as far as memory serves:

55kg zercher squat
46kg Back squat (only ever done two or three back squats)
77.5kg Deadlift
24kg KB jerk
33kg 1-finger deadlift
40kg Bench press (only ever done one of these, having not had a bench before)

Today
Shoulder mobility: broomhandle shoulder dislocations with decreasing distance between hands, and broomhandle rolls.
OH squats with broomhandle, rock-bottom.

Good to see you back at it, just don't let us rub off on you too much else you'll wake up fat and do nothing but complain about squat depth all day!

Thanks Fazc...Hahaha, no, I'll try not to let that happen

Now squat depth, that may be another issue, going to set a camera up to double-check I'm hitting depth, more so for the sake of my knees than anything. Today was no problem, with the broomhandle but add a bit of weight and everything changes, so I will be keeping an eye on that.
