A little background. I am a 48 year old male. In Oct. 2007 I was diagnosed with high cholesterol and given a choice of losing weight or starting meds. I chose the first choice and began a 12 week journey to get my weight down. At my heaviest I was about 230lbs of skinny fat. I didn't think I was overweight, but looking back at pictures, I was a mini buddah statue. I began with body weight and light dumbbell training, following the TNT Diet put out my Men's Health. I lost 35 lbs during those 12 weeks and brought my cholesterol closer to normal. Over the course of the next two years I battled the weight battle, was diagnosed with fatty liver and low T. I began picking up used equipment, via Craigslist, and put together fairly decent gym I have dubbed "The Dog House." During that time I have trained fullbody, using a variation of Park's 5 x 5, tried various other routines and most recently had a 6 month run of 5/3/1. I am currently working running a higher volume Hypertrophy based program through June and then will probably return to a 5/3/1 variation. I have used waximaize in the past, but found it gave me gas. I also tried various sugars and found the same result. So, I am looking forward to see how I respond to this product. I will be following Eric's dosage protocols, 1/2 scoop pre, 1/2 scoop intra and 1 scoop post. I received my product yesterday and took my first pre-workout this morning. I will be hitting the Dog House in a few minutes and will update this thread as soon as I can today.

![]() 1 level scoop at the top of the scooper is 40g's Karbolyn is 1g carb per 1g of weight. Once again just as a reminder for people following, Karbolyn is made from Rice, Corn and Potato's.

Shoulders/Traps
Pre-stuff 1 hour pre - 1/2 scoop of Karbolyn and 2 scoops of Con-cret. I drank about 10 oz of Karbolyn before adding Con-cret to final 6 oz. Intra - Karbolyn Post - 8 oz Calorie Coundown, 1 scoop of Karbolyn, 1 scoop of Protein Warmup ups Shoulder Rotations Shoulder Dislocates Tube warmup 10 x 45 SOHP Working Sets SOHP 10 x 100 10 x 100 10 x 100 9 x 100 9 x 100 Front Plate Raises 10 x 35 10 x 35 8 x 35 ** 10 x 35 10 x 35 Leaning Side Laterals 3 x 10 x 12 BB Shrugs 5 x 10 x 185 DB Hammer Grip Shrugs 5 x 10 x 50 NOTES I was a little motivated to hit the Dog House today. I don't know wether it was the argument in the car or the extra carbs, but I was ready to get some work done. After the back spasms and slight pull on Monday, I decided to do the overhead seated for a bit more support. As I look at the numbers there are a few anomalies. The 8 repper on the front raises was one. I ran out of gas. When I went back to the next set it was like a new me and I knocked the last two sets out with little problems. Karbolyn Thoughts I had the strawberry flavored K for my pre-workout carbs. A nice strawberry taste. What surprised me was I was expecting a ton of sweetness and it wasn't there. Now that is not a bad thing, I love the taste of the Strawberry, it just isn't sickeningly sweet. I did feel more energy today. It also seemed to come in waves. Again, not a bad thing as it pushed me to completion. The only other thing of note at this point, about an hour post training, is there is no bloating or gas. That is a win!

OK, weighed out the Karbolyn with original scooper.
Scooper is 12g's empty, 0 scale out and weigh product results. Level scoop to the line by the handle, is right on the money and at 50g's. IF you just dig in and do a rounded scoop to the top it averages 70g's being 70 carbs.

^5 the original scoop is great going to the line. But if your cutting and anal on macro counts Karbolyn is touchy on what makes a gram. You can go from 50g's to 55 in the blink of the eye. lol

Since you brought it up a few weeks ago, I have been measuring everything. It is kinda fun. I now know how much all of our plates, paper product, bowls, etc... weigh. Since I got both the Strawberry and the Unflavored, I will be measuring both scoops. There can be a variance in those items too.

I didn't weight all my plates and such I just turn on scale, put plate, bowl or what have you on it, then hit tare to "0" it out then start adding the food, sups what have you. Advantage to a digital over a manual food scale. Little less brain work to add to a variable flaw.

Warmup Plate Rotations Plate Cubans Shoulder Dislocates Tube Shoulder routine Bar only warmup Bench Working Sets Bench Press 5 x 10 x 110 Pec Deck 5 x 10 x 60 Incline DB Bench 10 x 35 10 x 36 3 x 10 x 37 Tricep Bar Curls PWO 5 x 10 x 50 DB Hammer Curls SS Wrist Curls 10 x 40 HC 10 x 55 WC 10 x 40 HC 10 x 55 WC 8 x 40 HC 10 x 55 WC NOTES Energy and focus were there today. I felt stronger even if the weights don't reflect it. The only downside was my decision to superset the last two exercises. My wrists do not like the wrist curls and that brought that super set to a halt. Added weight to everything, so all in all a good day. Karbolyn Thoughts I had great energy and focus. Felt strong and no drag. I love that I can get some carbs and energy and not feel heavy and bloated. I like this stuff.
