Same here. It made a big difference. More power in the movement when you keep the barbell up against the legs.

8 training weeks or 8 weeks until the meet?

Personal preference type question....When you do your singles, on the last set if you feel you could double or even triple it..do you?

8 weeks. I train a week on, a week deload. So last week before the meet is an off week.

Regarding the question, when I do I tend to get in trouble. Might just be an age/old man thing. Last week the same weight felt light so I went for a double and tweaked my left quad. I might have been able to hit a triple or quad with it, if not for the tweak.

For me it seems better to get in, get my progress and leave without doing more. How I feel seems like a lie at times.

Best bench workout in 2 months. How you feel is a lie. I didn't want to lift...was nearly falling asleep. Also feeling like a slight cold might be coming on. Recipe for failure it wasn't. Hit a PR for paused bench singles.
