I've slacked quite a bit on this log. The last month for me has been busy and good. I've been put in charge of content on one of the largest bodybuilding sites on the Internet, been writing and editing for the largest female bodybuilding site on the Internet, and done about 30 interviews and profiles...with everyone from Lisa Aukland (top 5 in the 2009 Ms. Olympia) to Layne Norton.

So...it's been fun, but I've let my log slack.

Now that my life is a bit more buttoned down, my log will be rolling again.

I also want to note that I am also working on a training book. It's not your typical training book that pushes a system etc. I am working at dissecting training theory, and placing it into nice, neat little packages so that a trainee can better analyze a given system and it's mechanics, and better designer their own system.

Unconventional, the book will be, young Skywalker.

I don't want to give away many details right now, but I will say that my current routine is based upon it's training underpinnings.

10/08/2009: Chest and Triceps

Workout Time
: 37 minutes

Workout Grade: A-

Felt pretty good today. I've been de-loading for the last couple of weeks, and haven't felt like logging my workouts much. Wasn't much to talk about. The Spike Diet is going good. This Sunday is my 42nd birthday, and I will be spiking it with cake and pizza.

As I mentioned in my previous post, I am using a new training system. I won't get into specifics for a while. Not trying to be all James Bond, but I really don't want this system's info to be on the web before I finish my book. I think the approach to training that I'm writing about is very functional and unique. I don't expect to make money from this...but I would like to have my thoughts on training in writing before they are stolen and re-packaged.

My variation on flyes is working quite well. No annoying shoulder grinding.

Bench Press
225 x 10

Incline BB Press

Shaw Flyes (Palms away from face, elbows tucked like when benching)

10/13/2009: Shoulders and Biceps

Workout Time: 29 minutes

Workout Grade: A-

Tried a couple new shoulder exercises today, and a new biceps exercise. The barbell Arnold press was tricky, but effective. Palms forward side laterals took some of the "bad" pressure off the shoulder, but the jury's still out on this movement. I hate laterals, but with that said, am still open to trying new things. The seated barbell curls were very effective. I like these, and will rotate them into my bicep days in the future.
