Yeah, there were a couple of skinny kids in my gym, 16 and 20. One is pretty damn strong though (he squats 4 plates ALMOST to parallel). Both of them were saying how they couldn't gain weight. I told them, "Eat more". One says, "But I eat a shit-ton a day, 3500-4000 calories, and it's CLEAN, too..."

They wouldn't like my suggestions...

Butter
Heavy Cream
Whole Milk
Almonds
Olive Oil.

A little butter on your veggies. A little olive oil with your meats. A little heavy cream in your whey shakes or whole milk. And a few handfuls of almonds.

I just added quite a few cals without making them full.

Unfortunately "clean" often means "very low fat". I don't live in the camp that believes these fats are bad.

One should take all egg related items, boiled potatoes and protein shakes.

I tell hard gainers not to eat clean every meal. I know myself I can't make gains eating clean all the time. Can't get enough cals in eating clean every meal for a hard gainer. I know many hard gainers that went my route and thanked me 2 months later.

Clean 3 main meals and 2 junk food snack meals. That will give a hard gainer the cals needed for gains with hard work, but yet not blow up like a balloon and it be all fat, no mucle gains.

To many hard gainer eat clean. Don't make gain's so go even cleaner thinking they are doing something wrong. Ya they are. Can't get enough cals eating clean all the time if your a hard gainer.
