MOB POWERBUILDING CYCLE 3 DAY 2

Seated BB Press
127.5 X7 PR +2.5 lbs
127.5 X7
127.5 X7
127.5 X7
Will progress weight next time, as rep range of 6-8 was met.

High Pulls
155 X8 PR +10 lbs
155 X8 See Vid
155 X8
Will progress weight next time, as rep ceiling of 8 was met. Increases will be 5 lbs from now on tho.

Standing BB Curls
65 X10
65 X10
65 X10
Still taking it easy on these, as I have a tender spot right on my bone at my elbow on left arm. Funny thing tho, after the 2nd set, it seemed to go away and is fine tonight. I reckon its a case of fighting fire with fire, as I first felt the tenderness after doing curls a couple of weeks ago.

Cardio
4.8 Miles
Steady State
level 2

Great session with some quiet progression, except for the iron clanging on the floor during the high pulls, which woke Mrs Squatter up Next time I will just turn up the music so she won't hear the banging.

good work Jim. Im going to miss those high pulls, may have to do some seated shrugs for a while with dumbbells in their place.

You seem to really like this new routine. it looks fun.

Once again some great work and some nice PR's. I am also in agreement: turning the music up is not only an awesome idea, because music is grand, but I'm also confident that it will resolve the issue at hand!

Super strong High Pulls there Jim, I know for sure my CV system would just shut down if i tried doing that many reps at the kind of weight

Good stuff big guy and more confirmation of what having top notch conditioning can do for you

Carl.

Thanks Cleep Hopefully your a fast healer and will be back sooner than the docs think.

The routine was great fun even before the oly lifts - now it is a complete blast. I literally cannot wait to get up and lift every morning.

Thanks Steve!! I learned how to make lifts look easy from big Al I think he's the master at it.

Mrs Squatter was wearing ear plugs and still was awoken.

Thanks Big J. The pulls felt solid indeed, but I thought I lost just a bit of explosiveness with the added weight, so next week will add only 5 lbs. The oly lifts are fun to learn, but I am not sure either if I'm doing them right or not some of the time.

Thanks Carl!! I am looking for the perfect blend of strength, power, and fitness. I think it's very important to be all of that at my age and beyond. I am realistic in knowing I will never be the strongest guy around, nor the biggest, nor the most fit. But I can be relatively close to all 3 at the same time.

MOB POWERBUILDING CYCLE 3 DAY 3

Weigh-In

Weight: 219.6 lbs
Waist: 39.0 inches

Weight is down 3.8 lbs this week, while waist is down 1 inch. I've never cried on the scale before, until today. I worked so hard for this. It's really utterly amazing how much those meds killed my metabolism. The first 3 weeks I only managed a 2 lb weight loss, despite doing insane amounts of cardio and eating less than my 13 y/o daughter. The weight loss is high this week because I didn't know when the meds would exit my system, and for that matter even if my metabolism would return to normal. Thus, I did not adjust anything in my diet. I did reduce the amount of cardio big time, and still lost almost 4 lbs. Hard to believe the power of 1 tiny pill.

Now that I know my system is back to normal, and I am definitely in a calorie deficit, I can adjust my cals up a bit. Hopefully the next weigh in will be between 1-2 lbs loss

Blood pressure is slowly going down as well. Resting heart rate is now at 48 BPM

Cardio.
6.5 Miles Steady State
50 Mins

GHR Sit Ups
35 X12
35 X12
35 X12

Lying Bench Leg Raises
+10 lbs per leg X12,12,12
Using ankle weights

Kneeling Bench Cable Crunches
60 X15
60 X15
60 x15
