take a step back and look what was accomplished on that day. Sessions like that happen from time to time, but its no where as bad as you think!

At least you gave it your all and didn't quit. Just keep pressing!
Thanks DZ - I'll try not to let it get the best of me from now on. I just kinda reached a boiling point. The only reason I care about the number is for meets - my poor bench brings my total down and usually causes me stress while at the meet.

Time under the bar is the biggest factor in progress. Keep pushing hard and you will get stronger. Sessions like this are the Yang to the Yin of good sessions. The world must be balanced young (old) grasshopper.

THE SUPERBYRD SESSIONS BLOCK 1 WEEK 4 DAY 2 OF 4 DEADLIFT

Well, weak week continues....

I have a theory tho! I think I am overheating - I am part machine ya know lol. It's been really hot this past week, and I have been spending alot of time outside, such as car shows, yardwork, Stampede, etc.

Speaking about Stampede, I went on alot of rides I was forever terrified to go on in the past, and hanging on for dear life with a death vice grip has taken its toll, as my grip strength tonight was ridiculously bad. Rich can vouch for how bad a pussy I am on rides lol.

It was super hot in that CrewGym tonight, and I could barely function. I think I am going to move to the Arctic.

Tonight I also realized what a gem of a system this RPE thing is. Since I couldn't lift worth a shit tonight, I realized it was still a successful session as I lifted a weight still with an RPE of 7, as instructed, and I lifted accordingly to how I felt for this day. In the past, going in with a certain percenage to do, I would have felt like a loser for not completing my goal, and I likely might have attempted weights that might have injured me.

This is the beauty of the RPE system - you lift according to how you feel for the day. if I felt 100%, I would have lifted more weight, with still leaving 3 in the tank.

Got it? Haha

I also have an absolutely stunning development to tell you about regarding my Birdshot. I may do a vid to explain it, as I think that would be easier. There is a good chance now that my vision will be saved from any further damage. It's truly a remarkable thing that has happened, and has never happened before to anyone with Birdshot. I met with my eye surgeon and a Rheumatologist today for over an hour - and what a conversation it was. It was pretty emotional.

In a nutshell, it appears as though Lisa started a chain of events that has literally saved my eyesight. She's truly a hero guys.

details to come!

Deadlift
455 X0 Grip Fail
455 X0 Add Vg's - Strength Fail
Grrr
425 X2
425 X2
425 X2
425 X2
425 X4 Vid
On a normal day, i would have been able to double 455 easily with leaving 3 in the tank - this is why I initially chose 455. I am Ok with the 425 as it was the most I could do on this particular day while leaving 3 in the tank. I know this because on the last set of 4, I left 1 in the tank.

Felt like death but continued on with the session

2 Inch Deficit Deads
385 X3
385 X3
385 X3
385 X3
385 X3 Vid

DB Rows
120 X8
120 X8
120 X8
Normally, DB Rows make me wanna hurl, but tonight, they actually made me feel better.

Lat Pulldowns
12 Black Bars X8 reps X 3 sets

Shit man. I'd kill for a bench press session like that. You did super heavy military too!
