Anyway, sorry to ramble.

Just remember Jim that your persistence and dedication inspire others. The weight we lift comes and goes, and our injuries come and go, but it's the effort that is the true measure of success...and you have plenty hombre.
Thanks Steve I would like nothing more than to deadlift 405 without straps. That would mean just as much to me as doing 500 with straps, due to my tremors.

I hear ya WRT the pre-wo. It is a must for me, lifting at 4:00AM. The BCAA's are also a must have. I don't think the pre-wo is a placebo, as I always feel it within 5 mins on an empty stomach.

last, but not least, thank you so much for your words. Your thoughts mean the world to me. Big respect to you sir. I wish I was your next door neighbor.

PUSH PRESS DAY 07/25/11

The fire burning inside of me now is like nothing I have ever felt before.

Push Press
185 X1
185 X3 PBR - I have never repped 185 before. See Vid
205 X1 All Time PB See Vid
I'm so close to 2 PPS I can smell it

Military Press
135 X5 PB I have never MP'd 1 PPS before.
135 X5
135 X5
These were all 100% strict

BHTNP
115 X10
115 X9
115 X9

Face Pulls
90 X10 PB
90 X10
90 X10

BOBR's
115 X10
115 X10
115 X10
Light on these puppies - no low back irritation. WOOOT

Pull Ups
4,4,4/4,4,4/3,3,3/3,3,3/3,3,3
51 Reps PB

Cardio
10K (6.2 Miles)
48:58
Not to bad for a 225 lb man - WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO

Thank gawd for wrist wraps. I tweaked my right wrist on the 185 X1 set of Push Press. I was also using a suicide grip, which I have always found more comfy, except for today. After that set, anger set it and the beast was unleashed. On went the wrist wraps. Wow - what a difference. I used a normal grip and it paid off. Wrist pain was gonzo and the rest of the session was a smash up great time.

That is some great pressing!

One thing I notice though, is that you keep the bar in your hands all the way through the lift. If you can rest the bar on your chest/delts before you lift, then you don't lose any of your leg drive due to joint flexibility that absorbs some of your push. It's direct upward pressure from a solid base, no loss of upward force.

Also, since you're catching the bar in your hands, your shoulders/arms, etc are under constant load, so you tire perhaps more quickly than you would if you got to take a breath with the weight resting on your delts between reps.

Just a thought. It helped me raise my numbers with push presses. Oh, but start light if you do try this. Gotta learn to keep your face out of the way! I clocked myself a few times while learning this.

Anyway, just a thought. Sick pressing regardless.

And that is a serious shoulder destroying workout! 48 total heavy presses? And 51 pullups, too? Beastly.

Great presses man!! Were actually at exactly the same #'s on the push, 185 for 3 and 205 for 1, we COULD make this into a comp...

Thanks Mike!! I didn't realize I was doing that. I always at least try all advice given to me, so I will incorporate your suggestion into next week's Push Pressing. Thanks so much for pointing that out. Anything that will help me get my 2 PPS will be done.

I did enjoy the 3 pressing movements. I have rarely seen that. I wanted to give it a try and it seemed to work as I kept my sets to 3 each.

I'm working hard to earn my wings. Pull Ups have been a lifelong nemesis for me. I still don't like doing them, but at least some recent progression has made them tolerable for me.
