Slept in today big time, so I missed the Crew. I always prefer to train with them of course, but I am not gonna fight my body when it wants to just sleep so bad. having the JimGym makes the decision even easier. However, when I awoke, I still did not feel like lifting, but I can't skip squat day as that is Blasphemy of the Church of Squatterville.

I can skip assistance tho and not be struck down with lightning. The thought of doing any was nauseating me lol.

Once again, I could not do any rep work until I did some heavier singles, just like bench yesterday. My plan was again to ramp up to 3 sets of triples at whatever weight, but again my body wasn't going to have anything to do with that. No worries tho, as I did get some decent triples in after-wards.

By nature, I am a Powerlifter tho and I am certainly not going to fight it.I was quite pleased to get the 390 in with no wraps. I am glad I wrapped up after that tho as my tremors began on the 410, and I need the wraps for stability. I always try to do what I can without them tho. I kept them on for the 335 sets because I noticed a couple of tremors on the 425 single which caused some wonkyness with my knees. The tremors are always unpredictable - I didn't have any during my 450 PR last week.

Ya, it was. It felt heavier than the 450 the week before, but that was to be expected. Thanks for helping me on it tho!

SQUATATRON SESSIONS CYCLE 1 WEEK 3 DEADLIFTS

The first session of 2014 quickly turned into squat day from deadlift day. Even tho the 475 went up well, it felt way too heavy for what it was, so I made an audible and decided to squat instead.

Squats are really my go to lift when things are not going well. I always have a good squat session when deads are not going to happen.

With this in mind, I have decided to add more flexibility into my training schedule. I don't think it is serving me well anymore to revolve my schedule around Crew training. If I feel I need more recovery time, I am going to take it and not be bound to any schedule. For example, if on crew bench day (Saturday) I feel I need a day off, I'll take it and bench on Sunday instead at the Crew gym. The rest of the weeks training just gets bumped a day ahead. They of courses will still spot and train me. Heck, half of them do that already. On Sunday's my squat coach is always doing OHP. On the last squat day I was there, only 3 of us were squatting and about 7 others were off doing all sorts of other lifts.

There are pro's and con's to everything, but I really feel I need to manage my recovery time better, and that is pretty much impossible to do anymore, especially since I now regularly be lifting pretty heavy, when I have to revolve everything around benching on Saturday and squatting on Sunday.

With all that said, I am just ecstatic that I was able to crank out doubles at 405. Those doubles felt simply awesome. I most certainly re-established my unequivocal love for squatting.

I really feel I salvaged what was quickly turning into a crappy deadlift day.

I am starting 2014 completely injury and tweak free and I really plan on keeping it that way.
