BENCH DAY

had to lift at home today as the potential for sneezing and coughing in my spotters face was pretty high. A few achy and painies today, but I managed to forget about it for awhile.

Big milestones in bench and rows today! First time I have ever done a full ROM 300 lb bench press (even tho I used a Blue Slingshot) and firsst time ever rowing 3PPS, even tho I ended up using a bit more body English than I usually do. There was less of that tho on the 1 & a half set.

Really got pumped up to crush the rows today from my big bench milestone. Cranked up the screamo on the blaster and away I went.

The insanity continues Sunday as I have to do a 50 repper squat @210 lbs to complete a challenge I foolishly accepted haha. I have been given 2 sets to complete the 50 reps, but I want to do it in 1 in order to qualify as a Monster.

Bench Press

Working:

Military Press

Nice work mate.
I'm tempted to put Pendlay rows into my routine as an alt to bent rows, although they tend to be done mainly low reps, 8-10 wouldn't make much difference would it?

Wow squat man. I find that your strong ass row and all your lifts coming up is no coincidence. Glad I have got a solid progression for rows now.

And for today. Quite ambitious this challenge is. I did a 135x50 before and it was real tough. I'm rooting for you. And , if you fail I get 10 points! But I don't want them.

thanks Monk! I think Pendlay's make an ideal accessory lift to deadlifts, especially if sticking point is off the floor. They have taught me how to build up alot of thrust from a dead stop, as pendlays are supposed to have some explosiveness. I really like doing the 8-10 rep sets and think it helps alot.

Thanks Chris!! I remember Steve once said that the row is really the cornerstone or foundation to building up big numbers on the big 3 lifts, especially deadlifts. I never really used to like rows until my deadlift started making headway.

Will be starting the challenge shortly. I know for sure I will have it in 2 sets, and if I make it to 40 reps I should be able to gut out the next 10 somehow. It all depends how light the 210 feels right off the bat.

The iron is there during my times of happiness, sadness and anger. The iron is there available through the 4 seasons and inclement weather. The iron is there to either comfort me or motivate me. The Iron manages to show me how strong I am or how humble I need to be. The iron does not yell, but it always demands respect. The iron is not a disciplinarian, but when disrespected, I feel it for a long time. The iron does not love or hate, but we definitely share a strong bond. And no matter how far I stay away or for how long, the iron is there, waiting to be lifted.
