Thanks Rich!! Next stop is 450 in a few weeks - may happen along the same time as my 5PPS deadlift! I just have to hire a mad scientist now to steal your bench strength for me!!

Thanks Chad!! Best part is is that I am doing it with decent form, which tells me more is in the tank. I just have to be patient now.

Will be starting squat face thread very very soon
Thanks Ravi!! Indeed, I am quickly approaching the lifts I have always dreamed of for the last few years, but never could achieve due to the health issues. For me, healthy=lifting.

Yay for squat faces!!

Well done buddy
Yup, I did, and to do it in front of the crew with good form makes it for me Carl. They can certainly see the results of their coaching efforts. Thats all they ask for when a new guy like me joins them.

It's hard to believe I am only 3.5 months out from my 50th birthday, and I am the healthiest I have ever been in my life. Even my internal cellular health is rated as a 25 year old athletic male. It's been a 10 year journey that has now reached its goal.

The iron is there during my times of happiness, sadness and anger. The iron is there available through the 4 seasons and inclement weather. The iron is there to either comfort me or motivate me. The Iron manages to show me how strong I am or how humble I need to be. The iron does not yell, but it always demands respect. The iron is not a disciplinarian, but when disrespected, I feel it for a long time. The iron does not love or hate, but we definitely share a strong bond. And no matter how far I stay away or for how long, the iron is there, waiting to be lifted.

Thanks Marvin - it means alot to me for you to say that. Us "mature" lifters have to usually work even harder as we age to get the results we want. I want to keep lifting until I am 100 years old, so I am only half done.

Haha! Indeed, It's not easy by any means for anyone, but definitely when we are over 40 our game has to put up a notch or two, especially with diet.

Thanks Ben!! 450 on squat will be owned in a few weeks. It's so cool to be able to handle these weights, let alone squat it.
