Thanks Ben!! Your making me cry, which is a good thing. I am quickly approaching all my goals I set out to accomplish 10 years ago. I was in very poor health. It's really a blessing I am where Iam today.

Thanks Rich!! I am blessed Rich, and I'll never, ever forget the past as I move forward, as I am inspired by it. The health is allowing me to lift like I am capable of.

SQUAT DAY

Slept in today, so missed Crew Training. Not gonna fight my body, so I am good with it.

Not even close to fully recovered today, so training was a bitch but still very pleased with what my body surrendered.

Baptized the new Texas Power Bar into the Church of Squatterville today. It was love at first squat!

Going to noload now for 4 days and attack deadlifts on Thursday with everything i have. 4 days off has proven to be optimal for me in the past.

Squat
115 X5
155 X5
185 X3
225 X3
255 X3
285 X3
305 X3
335 X1
365 X1 Vid Was quite happy to get 365 with no wraps - knees were feeling great. Not one to push my luck, wraps went on for the rest of the session. This 365 felt very heaavy tho.
385 X1 Felt insanely heavy, so what do i do, add 20 lbs lol.
405 x1 Buried it. Felt light-ish. made me very happy knowing I can bury 405 when not recovered and tired.
275 X10
275 X10
275 X8 Grrr that I jam tarted out at 8 reps.
275 X10
275 X10 Vid
Massive pump - couldn't get wraps off fast enough - vid is kinda funny

Cardio
10K run on Elliptical. Easy!!
Having been posting it, but I have been doing 90 minute walks every weekday, and cardio after each JimGym session for months now. Very proud to say I have now lowered my resting heart rate into the "athlete" category. last night it was measured at 55 BPM on my blood pressure monitor. BP was 125/82 BTW!!! Resting heart rate is a big indicator of cardiovascular fitness.

here is the chart:

Great work Jim. Your squat really has on miles from where you were struggling to hit depth. Well done.

Nice work and great squatting.

Why is your new bar better than another for squats?

Thanks Big Al!! Indeed, as the weights went up, my depth suffered right along. All the technique I have learned here and with the crew, along with stronger hammies (Primarily the result of going deep most of the time) has been big.

Additionally, you once commented to me that I should be burying my lighter work especially. That helped so much!

Finally, when I got called on depth in vegas last November on my opener, I buried my next 2 at 385 and 405, which gave me the confidence I can bury anything. Getting called on depth is devastating at a meet, and I promised myself it would never happen again.

Thanks Chris!!

Well, firstly, it is sexier!! Haha (like you said earlier)
First impression to me was the amazing stability. It does not really move. I love my Nike Romaleos for the same reason. Even the plates do not move, even without a collar. With a collar, no movement at all. I also love the knurly's - they are just right. I imagine there are other benefits I have not realized yet.

It basically reeks of quality and superb craftsmanship. perhaps it has some placebo effect as well because of that.

It feels really good in your hands and on your back.

It is also higher rated at I think 1500 lbs, so it should never become bent. My old bar bent and almost choked me doing front squats awhile ago

The Texas Deadlift bar differs in that it has more flex in it, so it reduces rom when you take the slack out of it just before you pull. That bar is supposed to arrive Wednesday!

The Crew has an Ivanko bar for benching, which is also great. It is so comfortable and nice to use.
