for being back with the Crew. They were like my wingmen today, and because of it I was able to get 6 reps across the board for all 4 working sets. Really pleased with the proceedings today. I was able to remain tight for all reps in all sets, even the 185X12. This is huge for me. It has taken me a whole year to learn how to get tight and stay tight. I think it's the hardest part of the technique to learn.

Forearm felt OK, except on pull ups. david fixed it up and said it was 100% on Friday. However, I seemed to hurt it reaching for a watermelon at Costco right after my physio session. I just said to myself "seriously" and then dropped an F-bomb(s). It seems to be in a slightly different area of the forearm tho. Becaause of this, I thought I would roll with my scheduled 4X6, but with no heavy singles. heavy singles would be a bit too risky today. progress was made because 225 last week presented a huge problem for my forearm. Didn't feel any pain this week, and managed to get all 6 reps for all 4 sets. I think this in itself is progression, as I don't recall ever being able to do a 4X6 with 225 before, especially so smoothly. 5th and 6th reps were a challenge, but by no means grinders.

Love the Mustang pics! My dream car would be the Shelby GT500 for sure. Well, a Cobra would be even better, but I'm assuming I'll never have a shot at one of those! The Mustangs are at least possible, if not exactly likely.
Thanks Mike!! This fall, the earlier the better, 500 will be mine. I think once I rep 470 and have 485 for a single, I'll have a go for it balls to wall session when recovered 100%. I will also attempt to rep it for a double if a I can.

The Shelby's are going for relatively cheap these days, as most of the guys who wnat them most are either dying or are tired of driving them, believe it or not. This is one big reason the retro stangs of today are such hot sellers. The actual 60's stangs are a bit rough to drive sometimes and are not so great to cruise on long distances.

Yep, the exchange rate and Calgary's altitude should give me a handicap I say!! Thanks Rich - I am very proud of my prowess now for tightness.

Thanks OR!! Indeed, no need to rush the set - smooth and consistent is much better. Sometimes when the going gets heavy, the brain says to hurry up before I crumble lol.

Thanks Jay!! As long as I'm healthy and follow Dr's orders to rep it, I'll be good to go. However, always a treat to ssneak in a heavy single!! No squealing now!!

SQUAT DAY

Goal today was to fiver my way to 3 shades of blue. Man, the last 2 reps on the money set were killer and forced me to dig deep. Good thing i had no idea what was loaded really - for the life of me I have issues converting KG's in my head, when I am focusing on moving iron, and admiring Dave's 500 lb raw singles that were deep as the big blue sea. Sheesh!!

I believe my previous best at repping 365 was a triple. I cannot lie, repping that kind of weight is so hard. The inner Powerlifter in me is begging me to stop at a single, so that I can move on to even heavier shit. Additionally, even more difficult when all the rest of the Crew are doing singles. Rep work really teaches faith in the process and discipline.

Best thing is is that I am thrashed, but healthy to fight another day, which is why I stopped at 365.

I'm incredibly impressed with that money set, Jim! Huge motivation for me with speed squats on the agenda for tomorrow.
