DEADLIFT DAY

The best thing about Vegas this time is that I was able to enjoy it in all it's splendor. The strip and the casino's were alive in color and full of life. Just 9 months ago, the strip and casinos were dull and lifeless as my eyesight was starting to fade. What a humungous difference this time. I got very emotional about it the first night when we walked the strip. Absolutely loved every second of it.

Our anniversary was the best ever. Cirque du Soleil's Zarkana at the Aria was just spectacular. They upgraded us to 10th row dead center. One acrobat was flying right above our heads about 10 feet up at one point. The buffet at the Aria was absolutely the best. Every item on it was marked as to whether or not it was gluten free. I have never seen that on a buffet. Dinner beforehand at the Rainforest Cafe was equally amazing. They bent overr backwards, once again, and the food is nothing short of greatness.

I set several buffet PR's as well. Again, the food is just stunningly excellent. The choice and variety is second to none. Taste and service were excellent always.

On the way home, our plane had to wait behind 15 others in front to take off. We were on the runway for over an hour. This put us way late to connect in San Francisco. As we finally arrived in San Fran, the pilot apparently radioed ahead and United held the connecting plane for us. We sprinted thru the airport like we were on the Amazing Race and made the flight. I tell ya, United went way and above every expectation. Absolutely the best airline hands down.

Now to today's session. I couldn't wait to lift after we got back. I chose to deadlift. I got new chucks at the Converse Store in Vegas. Make sure you watch the 385X10 Vid to the end to see them.

All I can say is that after this session, I finally feel like SuperJim.

Squat W/U
95 X5
115 X5
135 X5

Deadlifts
Raw
225 X3
315 X2
385 X1
425 X1
455 X1
475 X1 All Time PR!
Even sweeter was the fact it wasn't Fugly like my old PR of 470.
Add VG's
465 X1
445 X6 Hell yeah!!
425 X6
405 X6
385 X10 Yeah baby!!

Here's a Maserati for your viewing pleaasure and envy!

That is one heck of a deadlift day! Glad you had a good time. I had forgotten you were almost blind. Your experience makes me want to go to Vegas and I never cared to before lol.

Looks like no jet lag for you. What a great vacation, fine dinning and new chuck's to boot! Superb session 'Super Jim.' I am more envious of your deadlifting then the Maserati.

Dang Squatter, you need to vacation more often. That was a stellar deadlift day. I enjoyed reading about your trip, seems like you enjoyed yourself and your Mrs to the fullest. Well done good sir. Again, congrats on that PR and welcome back.

Although my 1RM is also in the 475 range, I'm not sure I have the conditioning nor testicular fortitude to bang out 445x6 followed by 385x10. Awesome job Jim!!!!

Thanks Chris! Sure cannot beat the spectacle of it all, along with the food, entertainment, and shopping. Not cheap for most things, but deals can be had. With that said, not many vacations are cheap.

Thanks Lisa! You always inspire me. I am pretty sure I had to work harder for my 475 pull than the person did who owns that Maserati.

Thanks Al!! I will be gunning for a 460X5 next time! For a fiver, I have done 455, but with 460 the following week I only got a triple. The attack on 500 should be a go in the next couple of months. Want it by Xmas at any rate.

The 500 pull is so freaking hard to achieve. If I sstay healthy, I will get it, and if I can, I will rep it.

It very well could be. I will show that pic to him when he gets back from vacation.

Thanks a bunch OR!! Indeed, loved every minute of Vegas. Florida next year, as I will be meeting Lisa, JB, and Moe - the 3 stooges lol!

Good to be back, just need to get in groove, and excited to get back to the CrewGym next weekend.

Thanks Henry!! I was determined to get in my rep work. It's amazing the difference 20 lbs makes as I could only msuter a single at 465 and get 6 reps at 445 and the next 2 sets.

Thanks JB!! It's really unexplored territory for me being healthy at this point. I am so grateful my Facet Joints are holding up so well. My lower back has never felt better - no tweaks or strains at all despite the arthritis there. Just another reason this is getting so emotional for me.
