BENCH PRESS DAY

Tough session today as I was no way near recovered from Sunday's squats. However, I did plug away. It was one of those sessions where I did progress, but it was not blatantly obvious. On bench, I am able to remain tight consistently now. I thought I managed to get my leg drive happening on the 205X6 set. The leg drive has been a tough thing for me these past few months. The 270 miss was close, and I feel I would have had had I been more recovered. I'll have it in the next few weeks - I promise! The 285 slingshot single was +5 lbs. On pull ups, I managed to squeeze the buttocks and stop doing knee raises - thanks to Linedriver for that advice. I think 8 reps@ 245 is a rep PR for that weight on the rows. So, there was some decent progression tonight that I'll take anyday.

This is my brothers' 1972 Ford Maverick Grabber. It was an econobox back in the day, but now they are in demand collectibles as they were fast and cheap. Not so cheap now, as they are worth upwards to $20,000. His friend has one as well, valued at $27,000. I think they were about $2500 new.

Great work Super Jim! Think that 270 miss was because of no lift off? If you did that with your crew, think you'd have got that! Lot of maybe PRs so congrats sort of kinda ! Strong stuff!!!!!!

I would have to agree with Hunter. With a liftoff, you would have had 270. It looked/sounded like you caught the hook when bringing it out. Still an overall benchtastic job Jimmy Tree Trunks.

The iron is there during my times of happiness, sadness and anger. The iron is there available through the 4 seasons and inclement weather. The iron is there to either comfort me or motivate me. The Iron manages to show me how strong I am or how humble I need to be. The iron does not yell, but it always demands respect.
