The iron is there during my times of happiness, sadness and anger. The iron is there available through the 4 seasons and inclement weather. The iron is there to either comfort me or motivate me. The Iron manages to show me how strong I am or how humble I need to be. The iron does not yell, but it always demands respect. The iron is not a disciplinarian, but when disrespected, I feel it for a long time. The iron does not love or hate, but we definitely share a strong bond. And no matter how far I stay away or for how long, the iron is there, waiting to be lifted.

Not so much the het outside - it was about 80 degrees. The temp inside must have been close to 95. Way too much for us great white northerners to train in.

Thanks Marvin! I really want a paused 315 someday at a meet.

Thanks OR!! Progress on form has been good on the cleans. As long as I get a distinct first pull and get my back involved in the racking phase I am golden.

Nice pressing big man. Feel you on the heat: we're up around 85 here and we are NOT used to it.

Nice bench! Always good work in here Jim. Summer is for the birds! Give me a nice bitter cold day anytime.

Firstly, good benching, brother. Looking strong on those cleans, too!

Secondly, heat? Really? We haven't gotten in the triple digits yet this Summer (which is really strange for Alabama), but the humidity is always a killer for us. Sweat just rolls off of your skin instead of evaporating the way it should.

Instead of giving you a hard time, maybe I should just move up to Canadia :P

Thanks much Al! I should be working on a tan instead of lifting! Haha

I can handle the heat outside, but not really while lifting. There was also zero air circulation in there. great lifting facilty other than that.

Thanks Mike!! As long as I stay healthy, which is a big priority for me, the numbers will come. I'm with you for the most part, by the end of summer I'm looking forward to fall and even winter, outside of driving in it.

Thanks Hit!! Humidity has been a bit of an issue here, which is strange because we are usually a dry heat. Eastern Canada, namely Ontario, is famous for its awful humidity, yet it is the most populous part of Canada.

Not sure how well you would tolerate winter, but it actually not too bad here in Calgary. Skiing is always great!

SQUAT DAY

Decided to sleep in a bit more and lift in the JimGym. I will face the heat at the Crew Gym any day, but not 2 days in a row. Next weekend will be bench there again, but on Sunday it is Licia's fathers 80th birthday, so I will have to lift at home earlier in the AM.

What an absolutely glorious squat day. I got my 405 back and that makes me one of the happiest lifters on Earth. It's been a long battle, since last November in Vegas when I last squatted 4PPS. I would have liked to been a bit more upright, but other than that I thought i nailed it pretty darn good. I'll take it dancing down the street any day, as a 4PPS squat means the world to me. I can tell you that if you haven't yet done it, it is a special lift. I still cherish it each time I get it.

I'm still healthy as could be. My lower back handled this with zero problem. It feel just great and in fact I never felt anything in it during the whole session. I can really see a 450 squat in my future now. What a dream that will be, as I am sure I will also have the big pull in me soon.

New feature as well starting today! Every session I will post a photo of a car that I have taken over the years. What goes better with muscle than a muscle car? I don't have a big enough stockpile of babe photos, but I have taken thousands of pictures of cars over the years.

Squat
135 X5
160 X5
185 X4
210 X3
235 X2
275 X1
315 X1
335 X1
Bonus Singles Cuz 335 was easy as Sunday morning.
Add Knee Wraps
360 X1 Vid
385 X1 Vid
405 X1 Vid

240 X15
1 Minute Rest
240 X8

What better assistance lift is there than deadlifts?

Deadlifts
225 X5
315 X5
315 X5
315 X5
315 X5
315 X5

Car Of The Day

New feature!!
