DEADLIFT SANDWICH DAY

Day got off to a rough start. I was on my way to work when the ring road freeway all of a sudden became a parking lot. It never is. Something was up. Construction? Accident? Children Playing? Nope. As I would fine out, it was of course a train wreck. Literally. A major train bridge across the flooded Bow River began to collapse with a train on it sometime in the early AM. The train was loaded with Chemicals and Petroleum products. This bridge just so happens to be about 1KM from where I work. I work in a major industrial area that is also home to the rail yards. In that video I took of the flood, posted a few days ago, the bridge is just off to the left about 2KM's further down the freeway. Evacuations were underway and traffic was complete and utter chaos. Th erail cars, fully loaded and heavy are teetering on the bridge, which miraculously didn't quite fully collapse. After 30 minutes in the mess, I called work and they told me what the hell was going on. So, I hung a U-turn at the first opportunity just after exiting the ring road and went home. Work wasn't going to happen today. Calgary and surrounding area is suffering. One town of about 14,000 people was wiped out completely pretty much off the face of the Earth.

At any rate, I went home and lifted.

Squats, although feeling better than before , but still do not feel right. The main problem is my knees. I seem to have caught Jay's Kneeitis. Quad was crunch free. I have cut down the volume for lower body, ordered knee wraps, and hope my supps and some rest will solve the issue. If not, off to the Doc I go.

Deads however, are going great! How silly of me though to expect all 3 core lifts to be going well at the same time.

Squats
95 X3
115 X3
135 X3
155 X3
185 X3
205 X5
225 X5
225 X8 Vid

Deadlifts
Raw
225 X3
315 X2
365 X2
405 X2 Grip Slipping
Add Versagripps
425 X2 Problem was I forgot to move the 35 lb plate on my right out of the way. I use the plate to help me load the bar. The 45 lb plates on the bar then hit it throwing me off.

425 X5 Vid
Warning!! Foul language during 5th rep lockout!

Pretty darn decent place to start to build my way to 500X5!!

Squat
135 X8
135 X8
135 X8

Shrugs
135 X10
225 X10

I love using Wraps. I have one knee that gives me issues a lot and the wraps help kept it tight..

Solid Workout too.

Your DL video reminded of the movie "Bruce Almighty" where Bruce takes control of the teleprompter! Haha. Very funny.
Anywho, that is some very strong pulling. At this rate, you'll hit 500x5 before August!
Great job for turning a crappy day into a "Strongtastic" day!

Thanks Jen!! Indeed, cannot wait to get them. The Crew will show me how to use them properly. Knees are feeling better today. I just don't get it why they got achy.

Thanks RR!! I understand that they are also good for a bit of extra progression. They are legal equipment so why not use them anyway?
