Default ATG Squat- automatic form change

I usually squat width a shoulder width stance, but today i got in that stance and it felt so weird i had to go wider, has this ever happened to anyone here, kind of grew out of one stance?

I've tried a few different stances, but I've always gone back to the one I originally used; shoulder width or slightly wider.

Too narrow and I couldn't squat enough, too wide and my lower back was fried before my legs were.

I go with heels at about shoulder width, maybe slightly wider, and toes pointing out around 30 degrees. Also I keep my knees in line with my feet

The exact width varies from person to person. As long as you feel every muscle in your legs hurts, then your doing it right
