Default 25/10/11 tuesday - GROW day + Ryan & Jared Training

Miserable day today. The sky is grey and raining in spurts. I'm very glad I hit it hard yesterday, and feel sorry for the trainees attending tonight

I'm also glad for this grow day, and have plenty of milk and chicken to eat I feel like I need the recovery time - which is a good thing. I'm also noticing the constant use of my lower back (at varying capacity) on each training day is keeping me tight throughout the week. Tight, but not sore.

Fortunately the scare I got on saturday was not anything serious, though at the time it felt like I'd lost the capacity to lift entirely... now i'm wondering how much of that was metal.

I am keen to deadlift tomorrow with the hexbar, and conventionally again on saturday, if it's on the menu. As Fazc mentioned, more volume at 160 kgs is what I need to do initially, and I intend to pick up with that.

Hell, I might even unload my full size bar from inside and do some at 160 tomorrow... if I can be confidant of my form.

In fact, scratch that, I have just checked my smaller bar (1530 mms / 5 ft.) and found it can accommodate my stance quite comfortably.

The back probably feels a lot better because you stopped immediately and allowed it recovery time.

Default Progress Check: Where Are My Lifts At?

Weightlifting Performance Standards

In the <319 lbs (<145 kgs) weight class:
My OHPress is between Advanced and Elite
My Bench Press is between Intermediate and Advanced
My Squat is between Untrained and Novice (probably because it's a front squat!)
My Deadlift is a little way off Advanced
My Clean, if properly tested, would be bang on intermediate at this point

Promising, and bodes well for the future.
