Default 10/06/2011 friday GROW day. I guess.

8:30 AM
woke, slept maybe 3 hours total.
10:15 AM
Breakfast
1 litre A2 milk
1:00 PM
Lunch
1 litre A2 milk with bushells chicory mix
3:00 PM
Snack
2 kangaroo sausages, 100 grams total cooked weight
8:00 PM
Dinner
beef stir fry, 125 grams
white rice, 100 grams

Drank breakfast and lunch in the car today, and was on the road till just before 1pm. When I got home I had to answer a questionnaire for my missus to (hopefully) get her into a special diploma as part of her medicine degree and maybe shave some time too.

After that I crashed. No training today.

And that's probably a good thing, since I'm gonna be playing around with some proper Strongman equipment tomorrow! I have been introduced to the WA Strongman Assoc, and will be crushing iron with a bunch of them at 2!!

Very excited.

Do just enough of it and you'll be playing hackey-sack, or whatever, like normal. Hipsters.

These effects remain constant for about the same length of time as cannabis (I’m told). But there is no increase in appetite that I noticed – in fact, I ate half the amount I would normally and felt satisfied, so it may in fact be a hunger suppressant. Of course, individual experiences will vary.

I was only starting to feel the DOMS last night, but this morning that satisfying pain was all over my body: my legs and traps are really feeling those deads from thursday!

Still gonna SHFW with WA Strongman this afternoon though! So I better go eat a steak for breakfast, I think.

Default Saturday 11/06/11 - Training with Strongman Western Australia



I will have a full write up sometime tomorrow, and a video is on it's way. Had a great time with these guys, several of whom have competed in SM and PL comps in Australia and the US.

5 reps @ 52 kgs
6 reps @ 62 kgs
2 reps @ 72 kgs

...and I think there was one or two more sets in there, but can't recall the exact figures. More of the same rep scheme. 72 was my highest though, and I know for a fact I could have gone to four at least, maybe 5. Next time.

Had a great time, and will be now looking into strongman style training programs to use in addition to my home routine. This is going to be awesome.

Steve, if you're reading, I think MAB should have a Strongman section. Ox would have to be a feature... and I can always get more vids of these guys training. They do it all the time.

Looks like great fun. Abs you fit in with that motley crew, and I mean that in a good way. You going to be hanging with them again? There is nothing better than training and working with successful athletes. They will teach you so much and help you build a perspective that will make all the hoo-ha that takes place in bro-lifting look obvious.

We do kind of fit strongman in with powerlifting, but I can change that forum title.

Yes, I will be training with them once a week initially, and am drafting a SM hybrid fullbody routine I can incorporate into my current home training.

I'll have an update on that in due course. I will also have a proper article I will add to the thread I started above. If possible, I'd like it published.
