Default What We Can Learn From Movies...

I have seen all the Rocky Movies. What is important to understand, is that I always look for things I can learn from movies (even if the movie ends up not being very good or has poor acting, etc). I try to wrap my head around a certain context to gain something of personal value.

In some of the rocky movies there is a lot to learn, if you open the eyes and see it.

Here is an example:

The Rocky IV one was good simply because of the contrast.

Core work:

Rocky doing twists with an ox yoke

Drago on a Cybex oblique machine

Triceps:

Rocky doing the body twist with triceps extension rock lift
Drago on a triceps extension machine

The only real movement Drago did was a power clean to press. And Rocky did it with a horse cart.

Psychology:

Rocky won because he believed he was indestructible (and was willing to die), and Drago lost once he realized that he wasn't. He was unbeatable until Rocky cut him, faced with his own humanity and the reality, he lost shortly thereafter.

Drago was bigger and stronger...........but was he really?

No.

Sometimes what is inside the heart, enhances what you have trained so hard for.

There is a huge lesson, as we move under the iron to reach our goals.

With Respect,

Don

Train and prepare, and then accompany this with understanding of your mortality, but not setting limits to reach your goal from "within yourself", enhances your prepared abilities. Especially against one who may have prepared, but has "nothing" on the inside: the person was dead from the start, but did not know it.
