Sometimes I feel like the lone man in the universe who believes that heavy rows are great for rear delts.

I'm with you on that man.. I like a nice wide grip on the bar, and I squeeze tight on each rep. Almost like a trap shrug squeeze, but not as long. It only takes a few good reps to feel it..

It also depends on what angle they pull the bar up at, and where they pull to. I usually pull up to high on my chest and keep the shoulders as back as I can.

I guess I am so used to feeling my rear delts on rows that it's second nature.

I often recommend back routines with barbell, dumbbell and even seated cable rows and guys want direct rear delt work. I'm not convinced that rear laterals are more effective than rows, so I personally don't do them often.

...your mileage may vary.

Im with you btb, use to feel em rear dealts after shrugging too. BB rows and shrugs are enough if you do it heavy i would say
