I found a coach today for when I start cutting down for the competition. Unfortunately, it is 500 for 7 weeks. I don't know how I am going to be able to afford that plus all of the other stuff I have to pay for. Not meaning to complain just kind of thinking out loud. I have some calculating to do. Besides that good Traps and Abs workout today.

just my thoughts on it and i don't know what you had in mind but you will need to cut for longer than 7 wks. if you cut that fast you may lose a little too much muscle. pending on how much you need to take off. but the earlier you start the slower you can take it off and lose it in those really hard to pin point area's like the lower back and lower part of the abs. how many times is the trainer gonna meet with you in those 7 wks and how much of the diet and training is he or she setting up for you?

I didn't get to talk too much since I was in the middle of my workout and I just caught him for a second. It would probably only be a couple times per week, but he would set me up for the time I am not with him. I plan on cutting down for about 12 weeks so I can make sure to get the abs sticking out like I know I will need them to. The main part I am concerned about is the diet and the posing. The workout isn't the difficult part since there are so many people on here that I can seek advice from that have contest experience.

jslep, while you were bulking how much cardio did you do?

none....but i don't recommend you do that. my bulk was not in contest prep. i didn't decide to do the show until 3 months out. before that i was just eating and lifting. then jumped in with both feet....arms....and well head. i just went all in baby texas hold'm style.

i would say do enuff cardio so that when you start the cut you can easily do 45 min sessions at a time. i would say no more than twice a week though for 20 min. avoid running too just do eliptical and bike. runnin is too taxing on the body. and i'm sure you are already doin abs but do them whenever they are not sore. if that is every day then its everyday. if its three times a week then its three times a week....whatever. hit them from all angles too not just crunches or roman chair. use every method possible and every thing you can think of.
