Any idea what your raw squat is? I've never squatted in any gear so just curious what it adds for you...

Not 100% sure 'BendtheBar' ...I dont do raw maxes, to not chance the risk of injury and I dont compete raw, so no need to. I still squat raw maximally but using different bars, safety squat, cambered bar etc. I havent squatted anymore than 500lb raw in anyway.

I'm about at 500 raw and any 90% work is starting to beat up my body so I have been considering getting a suit for training.

Excuse my ignorance, but the suit really helps from the injury prevention side of things?

Absolutely!
bench shirts as well save the shoulders and pecs
Its not all to move more weight, injury prevention is #1
You can also not jump into a suit and add 100-300 lbs to your squat, its a ton of technique and learning how to use the gear
But definitely recommend a suit or even briefs for 90% or more.

I imagine technique is king. Sinking with 400+ pounds is an art form for me, and much more difficult then sinking with 300 was. I can see that getting more difficult, suit or not.
