For those with some cash to burn try out the monster stick.

Of course you can always use tennis balls as a cheap alternative too.
My mom LOVES those second hand type stores, I'll have her on the lookout for rolling pins!

Could you/I/people just throw PVC pipe over a steel bar, and roll with that? Could be very cheap and easy.....

Makes more sense to rent space.

As for keeping clients, that's your thing, you need to establish yourself, find and show them the reasons that they should give their hard earned money to you (especially in this economy where it's tough to ask someone to part ways with their cash). As for keeping them MOTIVATED, there are a million ways man, but I recommend having them set short term goals, have them compete against themselves and their personal bests as often as possible, this will keep them remembering why they're training in the first place, and will keep them hungry for more!

For your friends, I like a fullbody 3x weekly approach actually, keeps them pushing themselves with lower risk of injury, and less laibility to you as their coach.

It takes roughly 6 months to properly study for your ACE certificate, and once you purchase the study info you have one year to complete your testing, so be sure you find the right time to dedicate to this journey, it isn't an easy one, and it gets costly (study booklets and testing can cost as much as $600).

Hope this helped...
thanks a lot, pretty much answers i thought you were gonna give. ill probably end up getting ACE next year and do it next summer, to busy this year. i have actually heard its only about 200 bucks and a few months for courses from some people who have their ACE but they are in their 30s so might be outdated info.

No they are correct, base materials and testing runs between $200-$300, the $600 package includes anatomy info as well as study flash cards...etc. A sure fire way to plan for passing the exam!

Not formally, just messed around with the Forta bench at the strongman gym, competed against other members/fellow lifters, but not in comp. Want to, but my ROM is so limited in my shoulder that I can't reach the barbell to squat, and since my surgery on my back I haven't even tried to dead lift.

It's my goal to compete in a show this year though, Lord willing!

Good luck. It's inspiring to see people come back from a serious injury like two herniated discs.
