OUTSTANDING! I'm still tickled to get 405 x 1 unpaused. That pause seemed like an eternity, too. Dang good work.

Thanks! The paused squat is my favorite assistance exercise for the squat. Once I started doing them, my squat shot up rather quickly and I built a lot of hip and glute strength.

How do you work that in as an assistance exercise? I need another assistance exercise for my squat.

I do an upper/lower split, training both twice per week. One is usually heavy and the other is usually light/speed training. When I do paused squats, I always work them in on my light lower day. When I do them, I am squatting twice per week. I have done them for 4 weeks at a time in the past before changing them out for another assistance exercise. This time I plan on keeping them in for 12 because they work so well for me.

I could also do 2-4 sets of them on a day that I squat after my regular squats, but I just haven't done them that way. Or, I could even substitute them for regular squats for 4 weeks or so. Many different ways to do it, and all would work.
