Well, I'm not too grand at that myself (weighing in at a massive 152, hahaha) so what I do is jam my thighs under the bar and use them to help push the weight up. 3 quick reps, and then it's down.

That. I dont think I've ever had 500lbs on anything. I wouldn't be able to get 500lbs off the rack no way. Strong shrugs man.
