Default Warming up at meets

This got me thinking...




...I know not all warmup rooms look the same, but what to do back there. Obviously theres more than one bar. Just jump in with the group, load your plates and whatever? Could be another reason to have a handler.

I just jump in Ben...Last meet I was at there were 4 warmup platforms....and each had lifters of different strengths.....smaller guys up to the bigger guys.

Best Gym Lifts...Dosen't matter....they don't count!

Best Meet Lifts:
Squat = 325
Bench = 210
Dead = 353
Total = 888

The iron is there during my times of happiness, sadness and anger. The iron is there available through the 4 seasons and inclement weather. The iron is there to either comfort me or motivate me. The Iron manages to show me how strong I am or how humble I need to be. The iron does not yell, but it always demands respect. The iron is not a disciplinarian, but when disrespected, I feel it for a long time. The iron does not love or hate, but we definitely share a strong bond. And no matter how far I stay away or for how long, the iron is there, waiting to be lifted.

yeah just jump in. everybody understands that you need to warm up and usually have no problem letting you jump in. sometimes you get a good rotation going with like 5-8 people. everybody is very supportive to your individual strength levels

Ben - just jump in.

A few tidbits on the warm up room: it is the one and only reason that I think raw and equipped lifters should be in different meets or at least sessions. I have no problem at all with equipped lifters, but raw and equipped warm up the squat and bench at far different paces. Causes problems in the back room.

It should be noted there is far more camaraderie in the warm up room today than there was in the eighties. Far more.
