Default To Stay or Not To Stay at Commercial Gym

Okay so I got this dilemma. I'm at a commercial gym that's ten dollars a month. Not a bad fee. BUT the closest thing they have to squat rack is is a free motion smith power rack. (Also, really thick barbells.) Also waiting for equipment can get kind of annoying.

Now I've been looking for a better gym with a real squat rack and less bro lifters to help motivate me. Problem is most gyms around me are $30 a month and I have a terrible part time job that doesn't pay well. But I have a small set up at my house.

Problems With My Home Gym
1) Only one pair of every plate. One pair of 45's, one pair of 35's, and so forth.
2) It's outside on the side of the house and can get rusted from time to time.
3) Ground is uneven. Wouldn't be able to squat or deadlift on even ground.
4) No dumbbells.

And I need your guys' opinion. Should I stay at my commercial or make the transition to training at home?

Bonus Question If I switch to my home gym, should I change my routine? I had plans to move to an upper/lower next week. Should I stick with the plan?

Squatting and deadlifting on uneven parts of my basement caused sporatic knee issues.

Personally, I would save the money, use the leg press, and find a way to make that free Smith work if it feels ok.

Save the cash until you can get more free weights/better location.

That's what I would do.

That's what I would do.
Thanks for the advice BTB. Just worried I'm not maximizing my training at this place. But maybe it's alright.

As long as you are consistent, and find a good exercise selection that allows you to progress, everything will be ok.

No they do not. And also I don't think I could afford one. There is a free bar at the gym that i use for deads

I'm with BTB. I was in a similar situation 20 years ago. Small gym within a racketball plaza.
I think if you experiment with foot and bar placement on the smith and the leg press (pictured) - you'll find a groove.

WOW, and I thought my gym sucked.

I would do like BTB said and just try to do the best you can with what the gym has to offer and try to save up some cash.

I cant train at home either, I bought a bar & some plates but I don't have a level place to us them.

Does your city/town have a community center?

Thats were I train, a community center. Its $10 a month and they do have a squat rack. I still have to put up with the bros but after 6:30pm the place is pretty much a ghost town.
