Default Assistance bands for pull ups... where do you get em?

Hey! So Im looking at getting some bands to help get me doing some chin ups and pull ups. I found this

http://rubberbanditz.com/product/all...ce-band-combo/

thats rated for those who cant do any and are heavy, its actually the step above my weight but I wanted to make sure it could pull me up lol. To get shipped here im looking at 80 bucks. Is that a good deal?

Hey you might be able to save a few bucks going this way. An average band should be plenty of resistance

I actually did a comparison of the bands from that site and the elitefts bands. I figured elite's would be the more expensive of the 2, but I was wrong.

You may be surprised at how little assistance you need, to be honest. When you get down to the bottom position of the pullup the band will be stretched way out and give you quite a bit of help. Also, the band will propel you up which will make even the top of the lift easier, even though the band isn't stretched as much.

If you can do 5+ pullups on your own, you need very little help. If you can only do a couple, then you need a little more.

Also, I find it very helpful to just set up a chair behind me and hang just one leg on it. It sounds like it would be too easy, but if all you do is hang a leg on there it gives you just a bit of help to get a few more reps while still hitting the back very well.

I have gotten all my bands from elitefts and never been disappointed. They go on sell from time to time if you watch them.

Looking at elitefts, I can't make heads or tails of the assistance they would give.

And from what I've seen certain things are WAY overpriced!

Elite FTS have sales all the time, I get emails almost daily! I want to order but shipping would be mad expensive to the UK

Good point. I got a great deal from EliteFTS on a lever belt. Plus if there is a Dick's Sporting Goods near you, they sell plenty of crossfit gear such as assistant bands. I use their crossfit grips since my commercial gym doesn't allow chalk.
