Default Prowler-anyone use it?

Anyone here use the prowler for conditioning? If so, what are your opinions about it? Been thinking about getting one from elitefts before summer

They are suicide for a fat person.

I like them because even though I'm big, I would rather push a prowler up and down an area than to do regular sprints or cardio equipment. We had them when I lived out in Oregon and it's nice to throw some plates on it and push like hell.

Great for conditioning.

Elitefts has some of the best products available anywhere, however, it's really important to think about how much you are going to end up using the product. I bought one of their specialty bars since I kept on reading about it and it would have been very useful for my situation. However, after a couple times of use, I ended up not using it lol. Anyway, if you have the space and really think it will help, it's a good investment. If you aren't doing sprints or other conditioning work I would start from there and then decide.

There are some cheaper alternatives if you don't want to spend EFS money. Just do some looking around. I made my own pulling sled out of metal, but many have used an old tire with an old rope to great effect. Of course, it's not as versatile as a prowler type sled, but it's easy/cheap to make.

They're all awesome. Any resisted sprinting, whether it be hill sprints, pushing, or pulling something heavy is always going to be great for someone who wants to keep/develop muscle while developing conditioning.

I also love the prowler. I use it 1-2 times a week typically.

I think conditioning on off days helps recovery and builds work capacity. Prowlers can be very expensive though.

A drag sled is probably much cheaper and some handles held out in front of you can kinda mimic the prowler.

What are some alternative companies for a prowler type of mechanism or a drag sled (I'm not familiar with what this is)? Looks like elitefts has one prowler option for sub$300 but shipping is also $60. I'm not a big fan of sprints myself and prefer for cardio a long slow run but that is now contrary to my goals. I need something to jack my heart rate and lactic acid threshold, and I also hate cardio machines.

Thanks for all of your responses

I don't use a prowler (we do have one) but I do drag the sled some. It's great for a quad pump if you pull it backwards
