Honestly it teaches you to program yourself. It has everything set up. Then you base all your aux work off weakness that show. Most thought out program I have seen, and I read these things for fun lol.

I was almost certainly going to end up modifying the cube anyways. I read the original Ebook and I don't really see the point of the rep days. Only 1 set? I thought rep days would be higher volume.

I don't mind speed work. I consider it more form training than anything, and if there's enough volume of it there will still be a training effect.

I know there doesn't seem to be much there for the bench, but that's actually good for me. I'm very slowly building back from a rotator cuff injury which, to be honest, isn't even close to 100% yet. I need lots of shoulder and upper back assistance/volume work before I can even think about benching heavy again.

Thanks for the feedback so far guys. If anyone had suggestions for other powerbuilding programs I'd love to hear it (I love how I can trust you guys not to turn this into a "this is what I'M doing" thread like some other forums).
Well imagine 20 rep squats all out. All you need is one set. What I got from the book was its basically just a guideline. His philosophy on training more than a routine. If that makes sense

That's basically it, a philosophy. The cube method can be modified from the outline. I did 2-3 sets on rep days depending on how I felt and what my accessory movements were going to be. Sounds like you are going to be running cube kingpin though which I think is a solid choice.

20 rep squats are well and good, in fact I just got a 20 repper with my bodyweight week before last. That was a crazy set! But the original program didn't say 20 reps. It said 8, and most people aren't bold enough or knowledgeable enough to modify things properly, so they'll just do 1 set of 8.

He obviously took care of that in Kingpin though. The rep days (along with all the other days) have much more volume in the written program.
