Agreed. That being said, it's hard to definitely "measure" the internal differences from day-to-day use, but it certainly seems to help with lactic acid and DOMS management.

Both BCAA and EAA are heavily weighted towards leucine which makes sense because "leucine is the only dietary amino acid that has the capacity to stimulate muscle protein synthesis"

Use 11: 2 scoops intraworkout on OHP + accessory

Mixibility: 10
2 scoops in a full shaker of water mixed quite well, with a little bit of foaming post-vigorously shaking but within a few minutes the foam was gone and the powder was completely mixed; no residual granules.

Taste: 8.5
Stronger than usual taste because it was more powder in less liquid than usual, but I didn't have my 3 liter water bottle, so I dealt just fine. Actually got a slightly stronger strawberry aftertaste than usual, but for the most part, I tasted refreshing lime.

Recovery: 9
Yesterday was a rest/travel day, so I didn't lift or perform cardio, but going in to this workout I felt pretty good. Intra-set recovery was solid as was lactic acid management. Felt some fatigue in my delts after pressing, but I left the gym feeling pretty good and I should be recovered for my morning squat workout.

2 scoops in a full shaker of water mixed excellently; after vigorous shaking the foam took a little longer than usual to subside, but no granules.

Taste: 8.5
2 scoops in a full shaker is quite a strong taste IMO, but if you're looking for a refreshing limeade, this product is excellent. As usual, I deducted a point or so since I have yet to taste the strawberry flavor

Recovery: 9
Due to scheduling I squeezed in 2 workouts within 12 hours of each other. Woke up this morning with a little lat DOMS, but overall felt relatively refreshed and ready to crush lower body today. Back Squats definitely gassed me, but since I've finally gotten my form to less of a GM and more of a "squat", I would expect them to be more difficult as I'm hitting muscles that have since been underworked. Intra-workout recovery after squats was solid and I added some abs and farmer's walk at the end.

Use 13: 3 scoops sipped pre/intra/postworkout on BP + accessory

Mixibility: 10
I had mixed this on Wednesday and due to weather and travel for work, I had to leave this 3-liter water bottle at the client site. Luckily, I arrived a day early since I left a day early and after a weekend of storage in a dark file cabinet, the mixture was completely mixed and NO granules. Incredible. For good measure and balance of flavor, I gave it a quick swirl before I began sipping it

Taste: 9
Even after a after a weekend of storage in a dark file cabinet, the tangy and refreshing limeade was present. However, since the water was at room temperature I noticed a bit more strawberry and a but more tang to the lime aspect. Nonetheless after a day of traveling it was nice to sip on before my evening workout.

Recovery: 9
The 2 scoops intraworkout during my squat workout on Friday made a noticeable difference in reduced DOMS post workout and reduced lactic acid intra-workout. And after a long night of drinking on Friday, I woke up feeling "decent" lol. Intra workout lactic acid management during today's workout was solid.

Final Review


Mixibility: 9.75
Whether I put 1 scoop in 8 ounces of water or 3 scoops in 3 liters of water, AminOD mixed extremely well via shaking with no residual granules and minimal post-shaking foaming.

Taste: 8.75
I sound like a broken record, but the lack of strawberry flavor was a bit disappointing. That being said, the limeade is flavorful and refreshing, but seems to increase if you use cold versus room temperature water which is neither good or bad, just an FYI

Intra-workout/Post-Workout Recovery: 9
I can definitely say that AminOD helped to reduce intra-workout lactic acid build-up and usually helped to decrease post-workout DOMS. That being said, AminOD seemed to be most helpful during my morning workouts when I was training "fasted" or on a relatively empty stomach (e.g. whey and multivitamin). Because of the extra EAAs intra workout I found myself not as concerned with going overboard on protein consumption during the other 22.5 hours of the day lol.

Thanks again to Randoja and the folks at Purus Labs for giving me the opportunity to log a tub of AminOD. If you're interested in an pre/post/intra workout product that provides good flavor and amino acids, I would recommend checking out AminOD.
