I have been toying around about going to a contest as well (as a spectator, not as a competitor, lol). Seems like we have meets in Jan end (3.5 hrs drive), a couple on Mar (both about 3 hrs drive) and one in October. The last one is pretty close to my place (45 minutes, period!!), so should surely turn up for that.

I think a realistic target for me would be to try and enter some local contests next year (2011) in the 181 lbs weight class. This year, I will just go, watch and learn.

I do 3 sets of "plane" work (same pressing plane as bench press) on each bench day. Your squat/deadlift day has too much going on already.

Bench Work
Bench Assistance
Triceps
Back Work

...that sort of dealio. That's how's I rolls me some Westside.
