It's just crazy that heavy box squats can fry my body like this. My warmup set of 135 felt tight and it was a struggle to hit 5 reps. it was like my wires were crossed.

I need to put my balls back into my paths and change course slightly.

02/15/2010: Back/Biceps

De-load day/Playing with Slow Reps

Workout Time: 54 minutes

Workout Grade: C+

I decided to do something a bit different and try some slower reps for my de-load day today. I do this about twice a year, and twice a year I am reminded why I hate slow reps. Slow reps feel like work. Not hard work, in the sense that they are too challenging of a workout. Slow reps feel like work work - dull, boring and a grind.

I went very light for biceps. My left bicep is still very beat up from my heavy high box squat day last weekend. On the bright side, I am going to order a Top Squat by Dave Draper to help combat my shoulder/bicep strains from heavy squatting.

Deadlifts didn't feel perfect, but I felt strong. My Versa Grips were a great purchase...worth every $$$.

I should also mention that I had a BRUTAL back pump today. I had a re-feed this weekend and my muscles were swollen beyond comprehension.

Yeah, a de-load...I dropped the weight and a set

Overall it was a pretty light workout though. What can I say, deadlifts are like sex to me....

And I can't wait to shred up and show off my little Platzian beauties. Right now they are Fatzian.
