Friday 11/15/13:

Horrible night for me. Tremendous pain in my biceps and shoulders, especially left arm, as I try to re-learn to squat with a regular bar.

Squat Bar Squats:

BW x 25
150 x 12
200 x 10
240 x 10
290 x 8 - arm starting to hurt at this point
330 x 6
380 x 5
420 x 5
put on wraps
510 x 5 - would have liked to go up but arm hurt so bad I was unmotivated

Pause reps 3 second count

420 x 3 - had to stop here due to arms. Pause reps was a stupid idea cause it just increased my TUT on my bad arms.

Good Mornings w/Manta Ray

150 x 12
200 x 10
240 x 8
260 x 6

Had to stop here, very depressed over squatting. Went to Diner and ate like shit!

Strong stuff. Maybe try some physical therapy on the shoulder? Hope you figure it out.

Hang in there and no doubt a way forward will be found. Good work regardless.

Thanks for the positivity and for checking out my log. Im hoping by next week to be training at another gym with other powerlifters and better equipment. I think it'll sort out. Keep up the good work yourself.

Subbed. Good luck Kroy. Hope you get the shoulder issue sorted. I had to switch to a buffalo bar to survive squatting in my old age.

Thanks Steve. I am purchasing a buffalo bar, cause this injury is going from nuisance pain to debilitating and is greatly affecting my bench and back work. But my question is, do you have any issues getting under the straight bar at meets and having the weight transfer over from the buffalo bar? I found that when I switched from Manta Ray to straight bar my squat got worse.

Muscle Confusion Day:

Got to the gym, changed, went out on the floor and talked to my friend about football for an hour , then went home. Boy, were my muscled confused! AS well as the girls at the front desk.

Tuesday 11/19/13:

Upper Body Accessory Work:
Left arm bicep and right shoulder still in bad shape from squat problem, but felt better than last night which is why I had bagged it yesterday.

High Incline DB Press:
80 x 20
100 x 17
110 x 15

Wide Grip Pulldows:
3 x 12 - working up to lowest pin on rack (whatever that is)

Seated Rows
3 x 12 - also working up to lowest pin

Side Lateral Raises (Single Arm BTB style)
25 x 15
35 x 15
45 x 12

Face Pulls
12 x 12pin
12 x 14pin
12 x 16pin

Would have done bicep and tricep at this point but arm was killing me, so instead contemplated early retirement

(ordered Buffalo Bar today, from Newyork barbell. Hope to start a new chapter in squatting again)
Also will be starting a new 12 week cycle from a 1-on-1 Andy Bolton program, hopefully Friday or next week.

Wednesday: 11/20/13:

Accessory Day - working around injuries and between programs

Shrugs: Shrug hell with a lemon/lime twist
145 x 15
225 x 12
315 x 10
Used hooks instead of straps today cause of arm issues
405 x 12
495 x 10
585 x 4
585 x 1 x 4- explosively from rack
This was disappointing as I had felt much stronger last week AFTER Deadlifting

Rows from Floor
135 x 15
225 x 10
275 x 10
add hooks
345 x 3 good and than 4 sloppy

Ab Pulldowns
3 x 15

Tricep Rope Pushdowns "supersetted Bro" with Rope Face Pulls
3 x 20
