I like old formula muscle marinade (from Purus) on competition day. I consistently perform better when using it.

Yup, I take a pre-wo each and every time & at meets. It doesn't bother me in any way, since like I said before, I am healthy as a Horse. The important thing is is that nobody should use it as a substitute for food, which by the sounds of it you never would anyway. Any supplement is just that, a supplement.

I prefer to drink something with caffeine before working out most days (something like Mio Energy or Coke). On days where I'm looking to put in some SERIOUS work or I absolutely feel like shit, I'll take some pre-workout, but those days are few and far between.

I'm almost 39.... until about age 35, I'd say they made no difference.

also, some brands didn't seem to do anything either.

At the moment, I'm using Muscle Pharm's Assault and definitely notice the effect (without jitters or stomach upset, etc.). I can also tell the difference when I don't take it.

Whether or not you want those ingredients in your system is up to you, but some of them do work.

Also, if you aren't sure about some of the ingredients and proprietary blends, you can buy some of the common ingredients (creatine, beta-alanine, etc.) and combine them with caffeine powder and maybe some type of flavor enhancer. It's definitely a cheaper option, you'll know exactly what you're putting in your body, and you can be adjust the quantity of stimulants you're putting in your body.

Iv'e been using a pre workout to some degree for a couple of months now.

I notice absolutely nothing.

It cost $75 bucks for a little tub and it tastes like garbage.

I want all my money back

I cant really speak on official pre-workout supplements, but I'll drink a 5-hour energy here and there before lifting to give me a boost. It doesnt make me stronger, but sometimes helps give me a little energy boost and clear my mind. Get psyched up a little....

Sounds like you got ripped off. What pre-workout and where did you buy it from?

I'll, like, totally have a strong cup of coffee pre-workout. If that counts. I dunno.
