Default Pre-workout help

I have been using a modified hyphy-mud mixture for a while now. I mix sweet tea with some instant coffee and drink it right before my first warmup set on heavy days. So far it works great. There is a very noticeable difference between the days I use it and the days I don't use it. It is getting increasingly difficult to get it down every week. The tea helps a lot, but it is still nas-tay. I either need advice on how to decrease the nastiness or advice on a commercial pre-workout that doesn't have an ingredient banned by the WADA. (even simple things like DHEA).

So far it looks like my options are Cellucor C4, and Six Star Nutrition pre-workout ignition with 1.M.R. and Jack3d being possibilities. I had trouble locating a trustworthy, detailed ingredient list for 1.M.R. and Jack3d. This makes me a little reluctant to try these at all. And, as I said, the hyphy-mud-ish mix I use works fine, I just can't hardly take the taste anymore. There are also a lot of supplements marketed as pre-workouts that seem to be aimed more at getting a pump than increasing/sustaining energy. I am not interested in a pump, only increased energy/endurance.

I would appreciate any recommendations from anyone with ideas on making my coffee/tea mixture more drinkable as well as any input from anyone who has tried any of the commercial pre-workouts I listed. I apologize for asking a question that surely gets asked a lot, but I have absolutely NO experience with this stuff. 20+ plus years ago I just downed a handful of caffeine and ephedrine pills and hit the gym. (Of course, I never made any progress back then either)

Thanks for any input y'all may have!

Sup Dawg (hehe),

I never tried a pre-workout supp per-se. But much like you, i drink coffee or black/green tea before my workouts.

Another thing that i like to do is fill a 1.5 liter bottle with green/black tea and drink it during my workouts. I found it that it helps a lot.

Honestly, and this is my opinion and beginner experience talking, if you eat and sleep well, you don't really need a pre-workout. As i get more advanced i may change my mind.

C4 is a good product. 1MR is good also, never had Jack3d. I've tried a bunch of different kinds though.
I'm currently using Condense by Purus, and I like it a lot!

Everyone has their preferred pre, and it's a crap shoot on which will work well for you for the price
Going to have to try them honestly to see what you like. Maybe try to get samples.

I have been using Optimum Nutrition Amino Energy from time to time lately. It's just Aminos and caffiene. Works pretty good for me. I either use that or black coffee.
I've tried muscle pharm assault in the past. It's expensive, but it's good stuff.

Squatter, is it mandatory to take the two together, or could I just use the Condense by itself?
