Default Stomach problem.

I have this thing with my stomach that I'm confused about.

You can see my abs, yet my stomach seems to jut out.

The more I've eaten, obviously the more it does this.

From dong a little research online, it seems its
1.) stomach bloating, likely from water retention.
I do eat allot of carbs, and carbs retain water.
Or something I thought it might be
2.) The fact that food is constantly in my body, and quite allot of it, and so makes my stomach jut out and look weird.

Of course the first time I saw this I thought I'd gained fat and got really disheartened.
Then I meassured myself and realised I'd gained some on my waist.

I kept taking the meassurments and saw that there we're fluctuations nearly everytime I took one.

One day my weist is 28 inches, then 29, then 28 point whatever, then today 29.3 inches, and so on.
It'll likely change again tommorow.

I asked here on the forum about fluctuation in weist meassurments, and everyone said it was a trivial amount of gain and could have come from anything.

So I dont think its fat, but then what is it?

Its like I had a flat abdominal region, and then someone pumped it up with a balloon.

My question is this:
Taking those 2 points I put above, do you think its likely one of these? Or something else you might know of?

Its not even that big of a deal. Obviously I'd rather not have it, but as long as I know its nothing really bad its ok for now, until the day comes when I have my goal physique.
I can suck my stomach in until then

Cheers

This is normal, especially around guys who are underweight and/or extremely lean. Guys that have a lot more padding or muscle don't notice it.

If you fill a 5 pound sack and surround it with 140 pounds, it's more noticeable than when you add 30 more pounds of fat to the frame.

1) Not taking it first thing in the morning each day.
2) Varying degrees of water and sodium retention due to inconsistent eating.
3) Natural measurement variance.

Science tells you that it's better to measure your waist every day and take an average for the week. This weeds out the riff raff that creates variances.

Lastly, stop measurjng your waist every day. You're a teen. Relax. You are not going to get fat. Use the mirror.

Glad its normal.

Bit confused though, what are you saying it is exactly?

Fat? Water retention?

Are you saying its to do with me not having enough muscle yet?

Ahh right, are these what you're saying it is?

Right, I'll start doing that then.

Need to not get hung up on measurements.

I know you've told me to do this before, but even using the mirror I get confused and can't really tell weather I look different, because of this very problem.

Not to worry though, now I know its normal.

Thanks

What Steve's saying is that your stomach either being full or empty is more noticeable because you're lean and small, whereas when a bigger guy's stomach is full or empty the difference is harder to notice.

The fact that it's changing so rapidly and so often shows that it's not fat or muscle, and just natural changes depending on how much food is in your belly. When I have a lot of food my middle-upper stomach sticks out a ton.

It's bloat. I used to worry about it too thinking I was fat etc. But it disappears instantly after you start cutting, for example, so it's just transient. Also if you take your waist measurement in the morning and then again in the evening, you can bet that the evening measurement will be much larger because of it. Carbs especially increase it.

I am eating.

Iv'e gained 25 pounds since I started.

I think theres credit to be had in that. I have listened, and Iv'e been doing what you tell me.

So what if I have concerns? That was always going to be the case.

the most important part is that I'm on the right track.

I appreciate the feed back though, I understand I need to stop worrying about the little things, and post like that are a good reminder.
