Default Need opinions

Thinking of some minor tweaks in my cycle for squats. I would like to add in front squats, but I do not want to eliminate back squats.

I run everything for 12 week cycles, but squats are broken don into 3 week mini cycles.

Do you think it would be a good idea to alternate squats every cycle or every other cycle?

I am thinking 3 weeks of back squats and then 3 weeks of front squats, what do you guys think.

Thanks in advance

I would do fronties as a finisher after back squats - perhaps do half your sets back and half front.

What are you looking to gain from the Fronts?
Trial and error. You might find it better to adding them in to your current routine and switch up percentage rotations between the two than putting fronts and back squats on a separate rotation.

Adding in Front squats to my routine right now mostly to increase my sumo Pull.

I like frontsquats after pulls on deadlift day. Or at higher reps (5-10) as accessory on squat day!

All of these options are good. More about preference and how you know your body responds to the fronts.

If your a powerlifter then dont. Stick to your meet tech.

Add in any variations if required as assistance work. Id do more than 3 weeks on an assistance lift mind you if you felt it was important lift to do.

I should have given more details here. I am totally committed to strongman.

I think front squats have a lot of carryover to events. I would like to add them without more volume.

I do squats and Deads on the same day. My events days are focused around heavy moving events, so it is tough for me to separate squats and Deads.

So this was my option to do both front and back squats. Just thinking out loud here

Thanks for all of the responses lots to think about

I would try and do both then. Poss reduce volume on back squats and make up with fronties? Think only you cab decide how your gona do it, but certanly no intrinsic reason not too.
