Thank you! Do you think I am doing too much benching? (I only train chest once a week)

10/9/13- Supposed to be back day, but I'm packing for vacation, which starts tomorrow, so I will be missing my back workout this week. I have found a gym in Gatlinburg where I can lift for a day fee, so I should get in my leg, shoulder, and chest workouts. We will see how that goes on vacation. I will at least get my leg workout in. I ain't starting over with the soreness. No way, no how.

10/11/13- My family and I are on vacation in Gatlinburg, Tn for a bit. I found a gym to workout at for a day fee, so I hit it this morning. Today was leg day. This was more of a health club than the prison basement-type gym I usually workout at. Had to use a regular squat rack instead of the power rack I am used to. Was a learning experience.

Squats-Did the same 5lb progression as last week. It was easier than last week so I will start 5lbs heavier on next week's squat session.

Warmups
135x10
185x5
225x5
275x5
Work sets
315x5
320x5
325x5
330x5
335x5

Deadlifts- My grip is severely limiting my weights here. I went to the gym this morning and forgot my gym log (which contains my straps as well).
135x5,5,5
185x5
225x3,3
275x3,3- my grip nearly gave out on the second set at 275, so I called it a day there. Gonna have to do some extra grip work on the side.

Tomorrow will be chest/triceps day. I usually train them on Monday, but I am getting the rare chance to workout with my cousin who lives 500 miles away (the whole family just met in the middle for a vacation/reunion medley), so I am hitting them a couple days early.

10/14/13- Chest/tri's- I was going to do a deload week this week since I have been lifting at 85% or higher for a while but, after doing some research this weekend, I think I am going to keep going with what I have been doing while adding in some subtle changes here and there.

Just got back from vacation last night and slept late today. Between not eating right and spending one night partying on vacation combined with not getting much to eat before hitting the gym today, my workout suffered a little. I will rebound next week.

10/18/13- Back/biceps- I haven't trained my back and biceps in a couple of weeks. Been real busy lately. Back/biceps and shoulders are the workouts that usually suffer first. I decided that I MUST do my workouts in order. If I miss one, I have to get it done before I can move on to the next one. This should help me keep up with the workouts that I'm not quite as motivated to do. But this has led to me having to work out for the next 4 days in a row. I will probably be begging for an off day come Tuesday.

Pull downs
Warmups
150x25
150x20
150x15
Work sets
200x10
225x10
250x6
250x6
250x8
250x7

Cable rows
250x5,5,5,5,5

Pendlay rows- still doing these pretty light until I get more used to them. I thought I had messed my shoulder up with these a few weeks ago, so I am just being cautious.
115x10,10,10,10,10

Alternating DB curls
30x8
35x8,8,8

Lying cable curls
80x8,8,8,8

One arm DB preacher curls
20x8,8

Tomorrow will be legs. Sunday will be shoulders, and then back to chest on Monday.

10/19/13- Leg day- Hit another work set PR in the gym today. I have been starting my work sets at 315 and moving up by 5lbs each set. Today I thought, "What the hell?", and decided to move up by 10lbs a set. It involved a little dizziness and I almost puked, but I pulled it off!

Squats- I did one less warmup set than usual to try and save some energy for my work sets. In hindsight I think this was a mistake. when I got to my first set at 315, I felt like I wasn't warmed up enough. I also waited until I got to the gym to take my pre-workout (a recommendation by Cutty) I originally thought this was a mistake because my warmups felt UNBELIEVABLY HEAVY. My pre-workout started kicking in right before my first work set, so it was just about perfect. Props to Cutty.
Warmups
135x10
225x5
275x5
Work sets
315x5
325x5
335x5
345x5!!!!!!
355x5!!!!!!!!!!!!

Deadlifts- my deadlifts still SUCK! There are literally 12 year old girls on youtube deadlifting more than me. I think I am just a little too impatient here. I kinda figured a decent squat would translate into a decent deadlift but, NO BANANAS! I also progressed my weight too fast on these. I think I am going to stick to 225 for a while to work on my form and get used to deadlifting.

Warmups
135x5,5,5

Work sets
185x5
225x5
245x5
265x5

Shoulders tomorrow!

A quick glimpse into one of the contributors that led to me being near-on 400lbs. My wife's cooking! She is a stay at home mom (and homeschools our oldest child) so she cooks a big ole country dinner almost every day. Today was Salmon patties, mixed veggies, homemade mashed taters, cat head biscuits, and salmon gravy. Yummmmmmm. I sure hope this settles before the end of the Panthers game so I won't be suffering too bad in the gym. Had to post a link because I can't post a pic for some reason.

Dr appointment this morning. I am still the healthiest morbidly-obese fat guy in the county (maybe even the state, lol). No bp problems, no diabetes, nothing! (except asthma, which I have had since I was a kid). Not bad for a fatty pushing near-on 400lbs!
